  • Publication number: 20200394477
Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for monitoring an object-of-interest within a region involve receiving at least data from two sources monitoring a region and correlating that data to determine that an object-of-interest depicted or represented in data from one of the sources is the same object-of-interest depicted or represented in data from the other source. Metadata identifying that the object-of-interest from the two sources is the same object-of-interest is then stored for later use in, for example, object tracking.

  • Publication number: 20200380708
Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for generating two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) images and image streams. The images and image streams may be generated using active stereo cameras projecting at least one illumination pattern, or by using a structured light camera and a pair of different illumination patterns of which at least one is a structured light illumination pattern. When using an active stereo camera, a 3D image may be generated by performing a stereoscopic combination of a first set of images (depicting a first illumination pattern) and a 2D image may be generated using a second set of images (optionally depicting a second illumination pattern). When using a structured light camera, a 3D image may be generated based on a first image that depicts a structured light illumination pattern, and a 2D image may be generated from the first image and a second image that depicts a different illumination pattern.

  • Patent number: 10848716
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for reducing video communication bandwidth requirements of a video surveillance network camera system that includes network communication paths between network video cameras producing video streams of scenes observed by the network video cameras and content-aware computer networking devices analyzing by video analytics video visual content of the video streams to provide managed video representing, at specified quality levels, samples of the scenes observed. Distribution of the managed video consumes substantially less network bandwidth than would be consumed by delivery through network communication paths a video stream at the specified quality level in the absence of analysis by the video analytics.

  • Patent number: 10735671
Abstract: An automated electronic video surveillance system enables a high-resolution mega-pixel camera to capture high quality, detailed, magnified images at multiple locations, simultaneously with an overview of the whole scene. A preferred embodiment requiring no moving parts provides full 360-degree continuous viewing with up to 5× all-digital zoom capability. The system performs continuous surveillance and active resolution allocation in the form of a feedback control subsystem that dynamically allocates resources so that important details within a scene receive appropriate scrutiny, while uninteresting areas are imaged at a lower resolution.

  • Patent number: 10699115
Abstract: A camera system comprises an image capturing device, and connected to it are an object classification module and a calibration module. The object classification module is operable to determine whether or not an object in an image is a member of an object class, and the calibration module is operable to estimate representative sizes of the object. The object classification module may determine a confidence parameter that is used by the calibration module, or conversely, the calibration module may produce a size that is used by the classification module.

  • Publication number: 20200193166
Abstract: Techniques for automatically detecting objects left behind. An example method includes receiving video frames of a scene from a three-dimensional (3D) camera and establishing, based on 3D depths associated with the video frames, a background of the scene. The method also includes detecting, in the frames, a foreground blob in the scene based on the foreground blob having a 3D depth that is different from the background. The method further includes detecting that the foreground blob has separated into a blob corresponding to a person and a second blob corresponding to an object, based on the person having a 3D depth that is different from the object. The method additionally includes determining that the person has been separated from the object for a threshold, and responsive to determining that the person has been separated from the object for the threshold, generating an alert indicating that the object is left behind.

  • Publication number: 20200143842
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for interactively identifying same individuals or objects present in video recordings is disclosed. When a thumbnail in a set of thumbnails is selected, new information is obtained. The new information may be that an individual or object is present in the portion of the video recording associated with the thumbnail. A search can be carried out for the individual or object based on the new information. The search generates new match likelihoods for each of displayed thumbnails within a user interface page. The displayed thumbnails are re-ordered based on the new match likelihoods.

  • Patent number: 10645344
Abstract: A video system for intelligent visual display includes a video camera having an imager that produces a first set of image data representing an image of a scene. Video analytics receive and analyze the first set of image data to track an object. The video analytics generate metadata synchronized to the first set of image data and representing location information of an image of the object in the image of the scene. A display management module receives the first set of image data and the metadata and uses the metadata to derive from the first set of image data a second set of image data representing a cropped close-up image of the object. The second set of image data is distinct from the first set of image data to enable separate display presentation of the cropped close-up image and the image of the scene.

  • Publication number: 20190303667
Abstract: A camera system comprises an image capturing device, object detection module, object tracking module, and match classifier. The object detection module receives image data and detects objects appearing in one or more of the images. The object tracking module temporally associates instances of detected objects, each of which has a signature representing features of the detected object. The match classifier matches object instances by analyzing data derived from the signatures. The match classifier determines whether the signatures match.

  • Patent number: 10417886
Abstract: A camera device includes a camera module that captures a scene corresponding to a field of view of the camera module. A wireless power transmitter of the camera devices transmits wireless power to a battery-powered external sensing device. A transceiver is further operable for receiving from the external sensing device sensed data. A network module transmits the image and sensed data to an external networked device. A power supply receives power over a wired connection and supplies power to the camera module, transceiver, networking module and wireless transmitter. The external sensing device may be an access control device that includes a sensor for sensing the presence of a machine readable toke and reading an identifier of the physical token. The access control device further includes a lock controller for selectively locking and unlocking a physical lock.
