  • Patent number: 9380587
Abstract: A system including a control module and a scheduling module. The control module is configured to define a plurality of basic service sets for an access point, where each of the basic service sets respectively corresponds to a class of service. The scheduling module is configured to schedule (i) first transmit times for the basic service sets to transmit data from the access point to a plurality of client stations and (ii) second transmit times for the plurality of client stations associated with the basic service sets to transmit data from the plurality of client stations to the access point. The first transmit times and the second transmit times are based on the class of service respectively associated with each of the basic service sets.

  • Patent number: 8447858
Abstract: An access point (AP) includes a control module that defines N basic service set identifiers (BSSID's) each corresponding to a class of service and having M service parameters, where N and M are integers greater than one. The AP includes an AP scheduling module that schedules communication between the AP and a plurality of client stations based on the N BSSID's and that determines a quality of service for the communication based on the N BSSID's and the M service parameters.

  • Patent number: 7996554
Abstract: An access point (AP) including a control module and a scheduling module. The control module defines a plurality of basic service sets (BSSs) for the AP. Each of the BSSs has an identifier, corresponds to a class of service, and predetermined service parameters based on the class of service. The scheduling module schedules communications between the BSSs and a plurality of client stations based on (i) the identifiers and (ii) the predetermined service parameters and determines quality of service for the communications based on (i) the identifiers and (ii) the predetermined service parameters. A first scheduler schedules first transmit times for the BSSs to transmit data from the AP to the client stations within time slots determined according to the predetermined service parameters. A second scheduler schedules second transmit times for the client stations, to transmit data from the client stations to the AP, based on the predetermined service parameters.

  • Publication number: 20100160746
Abstract: A distributed sensor based mobile/remote monitoring system for the management of various types of disease is disclosed. The system is capable of continuously monitoring a variety of parameters relating to the state of various diseases. The parameter monitoring can be continuous, periodic or episodic. A system to manage particular types of diseases can be defined by selecting appropriate parameters for that disease. A cardiac care product, based on the distributed sensor based mobile/remote monitoring system, is also disclosed. The product comprises a distributed sensor system including at least one patch for wirelessly monitoring a physiological parameter; and a biostrip for providing analysis of the blood of a person. The product further includes a mobile device for receiving signals from the distributed sensor system. The mobile device has one mechanism that includes a real-time wireless monitoring of the physiological parameter and a second mechanism that monitors the analysis of the blood.

  • Patent number: 6690657
Abstract: A multichannel distributed wireless repeater network, methods for its operation, and system components are disclosed. The network is designed to facilitate high-bit-rate data communication within a home, office, or similarly constrained area. According to the described embodiments, RF radiation outside of the desired network area can be minimized by use of low power transmitter and repeaters, while short paths and uniform signal strength within the network area predominate, facilitating high bit rates. The network utilizes low-power RF transmitters that generally have insufficient power to reliably span the entire network of receivers. To provide uniform coverage throughout the network, channel-shifting repeaters are used. These repeaters pick up a transmitted (or retransmitted) signal on one channel, shift it to a substantially non-interfering channel, and retransmit the signal.
