A total cost per unit transaction is determined from the total transaction capacity plus the total storage capacity divided by the total fixed and variable costs. The resource usage of the system by the application is tracked during the time period M. The cost billed to the application user is the resource usage of the application multiplied by the total cost per unit time for the time period M.
