  • Publication number: 20230150525
Abstract: A dynamic sensor model is implemented by a vehicle to adapt sensor behavior to vehicle modifications and transformations. Responsive to impairment of a feature of the vehicle due to initial conditions for a target sensor being outside a range of current readings and further to receiving signals indicative of a upfit to the vehicle, an upfit zone of the vehicle is identified. The upfit zone corresponds to the target sensor. One or more reconfigurations of sensors of the vehicle within the upfit zone are performed to address the impairment of the feature.

  • Patent number: 11524692
Abstract: A ride-share system of other vehicle system employs a profile database having a plurality of user phobia profiles for potential customers. Each of the user phobia profiles identifies one or more respective phobia groups pertaining to a respective user, wherein each phobia group associates a plurality of driving-related phobias which share at least one trigger condition or at least one countermeasure. A vehicle controller is coupled to the profile database which determines a default itinerary for a trip to a destination specified by one of the users. The vehicle controller evaluates the default itinerary for potential interaction with a respective phobia group identified by the phobia profile of the one of the users. The vehicle controller implements an alternate itinerary that mitigates the potential interaction.

  • Patent number: 10599152
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for automotive vehicles respond to earthquake warnings to provide occupant awareness of potential hazards while taking autonomous actions such as slowing the vehicle, navigating to a safe location, and providing safety advice. Data gathered by the vehicle can be sent wirelessly to a remote center for coordinating emergency response using the data. The vehicle preferably comprises a powertrain, a plurality of vehicle accessory systems, and an emergency management controller. The controller is adapted to receive an earthquake warning message. The controller responds to the warning message by providing a power conservation command to at least one accessory system to reduce power consumption by at least one respective noncritical accessory function. • Publication number: 20190226856
Abstract: A distributed system detects and tracks wildfires using a fleet of automobiles as remote sensing systems. An individual vehicles includes a plurality of sensing subsystems each collecting and evaluating a respective environmental parameter for various autonomous functions such as collision avoidance, lane-keeping, and climate control. Each sensing subsystem analyzes a respective environmental parameter to detect a respective fire-related trigger. A fire response module in the vehicle responds to a respective fire-related trigger from one of the sensing subsystems by fusing data from a plurality of the sensing subsystems. The fire response module uses the fused data to detect whether there is a fire-related event. A wireless communication module communicates with a remote fire response center, and transmits the fused data to the fire response center when a fire-related event is detected. The response center sends notices and detour information for a confirmed fire incident to the wireless communication module.

  • Patent number: 9909538
Abstract: A vapor blocking valve for a fuel vapor recovery system is mounted with a two-piece bracket having a base member and a clip member. The base member fixedly mounts on a vehicle structure. At least two bendable wings extend from the base member which are bendable toward one another to a release position. The clip member has an aperture receiving the wings and a clamp receiving the vapor blocking valve. The wings and aperture have a matching profile for selectably locking the clip member at one of a plurality of rotational orientations when the wings are at the rest position. The clip member is movable between rotational orientations with the wings bent to the release position. Consequently, re-orientation of the vapor blocking valve can be accommodated without any changes to the mounting bracket or the structural component to which the bracket attaches.
