  • Publication number: 20240021282
Abstract: A system for treating a patient in a medical procedure includes a computer and a medical apparatus. The computer includes a memory that stores instructions and a processor that executes the instructions. The medical apparatus is configured to apply a medical treatment to the patient when instructed to do so by the computer. The instructions cause the system to obtain medical data of the patient indicative of a medical condition to be treated, and select an algorithm and apply the algorithm to the medical data to identify the medical treatment to remedy the medical condition. The instructions also cause the system to determine whether it is authorized to apply the medical treatment to the patient and, if so, instruct the medical apparatus to apply the medical treatment to the patient. The medical apparatus applies the medical treatment to the patient when instructed to do so.

  • Patent number: 11166697
Abstract: An ultrasound system employs an ultrasound probe (31), a strain sensor (33) and a workstation (20). The ultrasound probe (31) includes an ultrasound transducer for acquiring ultrasound images (40) of an anatomical region. The strain sensor (33) is arranged on the ultrasound probe (31) to measure a longitudinal strain applied by the anatomical region to the ultrasound probe (31) as the ultrasound transducer acquires ultrasound images (40) of the anatomical region. The strain sensor (33) encircles a longitudinal axis of the ultrasound probe (31) and is spaced from the ultrasound transducers relative to the longitudinal axis of the ultrasound probe (31).

  • Publication number: 20210280290
Abstract: A method of administering a drug including measuring a dosage rate of a first intravenous (IV) bag connected to a first infusion pump, setting a pumping rate of the first infusion pump, comparing the pumping rate of the first infusion pump to the measured dosage rate of the first IV bag, and adjusting the pumping rate of the first infusion pump to the measured dosage rate of the first IV bag when the pumping rate of the first infusion pump is different from the measured dosage rate of the first IV bag.

  • Patent number: 10912906
Abstract: A mechanical ventilator (10) provides pressure support ventilation (PSV) to a patient (12). A power of breathing (PoB) or work of breathing (WoB) estimator (30) generates a PoB or WoB signal (34) for the patient. An error calculator (36) computes an error signal as a difference between the PoB or WoB signal and a set point PoB or WoB value (22). A controller (20) inputs a PSV control signal (24) equal to the product of the controller transfer function and the error signal to the mechanical ventilator. A patient adaptation component (52, 54, 56, 60) fits parameters of a model of a controlled mechanical ventilation system comprising the mechanical ventilator and the patient to data comprising the PoB or WoB signal and the PSV control signal generated by the operating closed loop controller, and adjusts parameters of the controller transfer function to maintain stability of the operating closed loop controller.

  • Patent number: 10353016
Abstract: This invention discloses a method and apparatus for managing lighting systems is disclosed. The method comprises performing a training phase for a plurality of settings wherein the training is represented by statistical parameters associated with a statistical model and then performing a monitoring phase to monitor the lighting system, determining whether characteristics of the monitored lighting system correspond to the model obtained during the training phase and determining an error exists when the monitored lighting system is not within tolerance values of the statistical parameters.

  • Patent number: 9240032
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product are provided for performing a multi-modal deformable imaging registration between two different modalities for which a functional dependency is missing or very difficult to identify. The method provides a nonlinear mapping between every pair of points in the two image modalities by calculating the nonlinear mapping for only a limited number of identifiable landmarks within the two modalities and a statistical deformation model of the structure of interest.
