  • Publication number: 20140198962
Abstract: In order to reduce limitations on an arrangement of a posture visualization system as a whole, a posture recognition unit recognizes, based on image data of a real space captured by an image capture unit from a predetermined viewpoint, a posture of an object in the image data of the real space. A posture visualization viewpoint setting unit sets a viewpoint different from the predetermined viewpoint. A posture visualization unit visualizes a mirror image of the posture of the object viewed from the viewpoint set by the posture visualization viewpoint setting unit based on the posture recognized by the posture recognition unit. A space display unit displays the mirror image of the posture of the object generated by the posture visualization unit and a mirror image of the real space at once.

  • Publication number: 20120262534
Abstract: A person hesitates to communicate with other person since the person do not know schedule of the other person, and accordingly, opportunities of daily communication are missed, which is a problem. First and second situations of first and second real spaces are recognized based on first and second video images obtained by capturing the first and second real spaces where first and second users 1 and 2 exists, respectively, in advance. A determination as to whether the first and second users 1 and 2 perform display operations of the first and second situations in a bidirectional manner is made based on the first and second situations. First and second display video images to be displayed for the first and second users 1 and 2, respectively, are generated in accordance with a result of the determination in the bidirectional determination step and the second and first video images, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20120257048
Abstract: It is desired to check a difference of a given movement performed on different date. An action of a person in a real space is recognized for each of a plurality of videos of the real space captured on different dates. An amount of movement in each of the plurality of captured videos is analyzed. Based on the amount of movement, a plurality of comparison-target videos are extracted from a plurality of videos including the given action of the person. Each of the comparison-target videos is reconstructed in a three-dimensional virtual space so that video information is generated that indicates a difference between the person's action in each of the plurality of comparison-target videos and the person's action in another comparison-target video. The generated video information is displayed.

  • Patent number: 7671875
Abstract: In a case where a position and/or orientation of a shooting viewpoint is calculated by using information about image coordinates of markers placed in a scene, the present invention enables a user to easily determine positions of the markers so that the position and orientation can be calculated more accurately. Information about markers placed in a physical space is obtained and area information about mixing accuracy between a physical space image and a virtual space image is obtained based on the information about the markers, so that a virtual space image is generated in accordance with the obtained area information.

  • Patent number: 7558689
Abstract: An information-processing system for calibrating an orientation sensor mounted on an image-pickup device calculates a relative orientation between the orientation sensor and the image-pickup device by using information about image coordinates of indices detected from a photographed image and an orientation-measurement value. At the same time, the information-processing system obtains parameters for minimizing an error between actual measured values of the image coordinates of the indices and theoretical values of the image coordinates of the indices, where the theoretical values are calculated from estimates of unknown parameters, by using a position of the image-pickup device and the relative orientation between the orientation sensor and the image-pickup device, as the unknown parameters.

  • Patent number: 7446768
Abstract: An image display apparatus and method generate a computer-graphic image onto the display of a real scene, using output values from an attitude sensor to provide angle of inclination and fixed values for the angle of direction of the perspective of the display. The result is an image in which the CG image is aligned correctly along the angle of inclination and is misaligned only in the angle of direction. A user then adjust the angle of direction while observing the display and inputs an instruction when the virtual image and the real scene come into alignment, thus correcting the correction information. As a result, attitude adjustment is carried out more easily because it is not necessary for the user to fix the angle of inclination of the perspective.
