Abstract: A mobile communication terminal comprises a housing with a user interface thereon. The user interface has a keypad and a display arranged on the housing. The housing is further provided with a large light emitting matrix. Symbols that can be recognized by the human eye at a distance of about 4 meters or more can be displayed on the large light emitting matrix. The phone can be provided with a plurality of colored lights instead of or together with the large light emitting matrix. The large light emitting matrix and colored lights can be used to send optical messages to persons other than the user of the phone. The phone can alternatively or in addition be provided with a power LED. The light emitted by the power LED can modulated manually or automatically, in accordance with any given code. The optical messages from the matrix, the colored lights and from the power LED can be captured by a camera of a second terminal end decoded therein.
