Patent number: 10701004Abstract: Techniques for simulating executable objects included in electronic messages are provided. An electronic message including a button in a captured portion of a dialog box is received. The captured portion is presented on a user interface. A query for data that is associated with the dialog box is sent to a database. Based on extracted information received in response to the query, a response that is associated with a click on the button is simulated based on an interaction with the captured portion. The electronic message is modified on the user interface based on the simulated response. The modification(s) present the captured portion on the user interface such that the captured portion includes details relating to a subject of the dialog box based on the simulated response.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2016Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Snehal S. Devasthali, Girish Padmanabhan, Maitreyee M. Patukale, Prasad P. Purandare

Patent number: 10333878Abstract: Usage-based management of email rules is provided. An unused email rule of a set of active rules is identified. In response to detecting that the unused email rule is removed from the set of active rules, whether the unused email rule matches an incoming message is determined. Whether a count associated with the unused email rule exceeds a predetermined threshold is determined in response to determining that the unused email rule matches the incoming message. The unused email rule is restored to the set of active rules in response to determining that the count exceeds the predetermined threshold.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2016Date of Patent: June 25, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Maitreyee M. Patukale, Prasad P. Purandare, Paryushan P. Sarsamkar

Patent number: 10178058Abstract: Expanding captured portions of references in an instant messaging system is supported. An electronic message that includes a captured portion of a reference is received. The captured portion is a portion of the reference that is inserted into the electronic message by a sender. A query for data that is associated with the reference is sent to a database that stores a supplemental object, and in response, information extracted from the supplemental object is received. The visual representation of the captured portion is presented and modified within the electronic message, via a user interface, based on (i) the information extracted from the supplemental object and (ii) an interaction with the captured portion that generated the query, the interaction comprising dragging a handle that is associated with a border of the captured portion of the reference such that more than the captured portion of the reference is presented.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2016Date of Patent: January 8, 2019Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Snehal S. Devasthali, Girish Padmanabhan, Maitreyee M. Patukale, Prasad P. Purandare

Publication number: 20170357951Abstract: An approach for authorizing a cancelled meeting room action includes receiving a notification of an unavailable meeting room for a scheduled meeting and determining a meeting context for the scheduled meeting based, on at least one of a meeting subject, a meeting agenda, a plurality of meeting minutes, or one or more meeting action items using at least one of natural language processing or semantic analysis. The approach includes determining whether an elapse time for a meeting room action is past for the scheduled meeting. When the elapse time is past, determining a first invitee on a prioritized list of a plurality of meeting invitees to provide with a temporary meeting room action authorization. The approach includes sending to the first invitee, a notification of the temporary meeting room action authorization for the scheduled meeting and determining whether the first invitee has performed a meeting room action.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2017Publication date: December 14, 2017Inventors: Apurva S. Patel, Maitreyee M. Patukale, Prasad P. Purandare, Debasish Roy

Publication number: 20170357949Abstract: An approach for authorizing a cancelled meeting room action includes receiving a notification of an unavailable meeting room for a scheduled meeting. The approach includes determining whether a meeting room action is performed for the scheduled meeting and responsive to determining the meeting room action is not performed for the scheduled meeting, determining a first invitee on a prioritized list of a plurality of meeting invitees to provide with a temporary meeting room action authorization. Furthermore, the approach includes sending to the first invitee, a notification of the temporary meeting room action authorization for the scheduled meeting and determining whether the first invitee has performed a meeting room action.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2016Publication date: December 14, 2017Inventors: Apurva S. The captured portion of the reference is presented on a user interface. A query for data that is associated with the reference is sent to a database, and in response, extracted information is received based on the query. The electronic message is modified on the user interface based on the extracted information and an interaction with the captured portion of the reference.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2016Publication date: August 3, 2017Inventors: Snehal S. Publication number: 20170222959Abstract: Modifying captured portions of references in an instant messaging system is supported. An electronic message that includes a captured portion of a reference is received. The captured portion is a portion of the reference that is selected and inserted into the electronic message by a sender. The captured portion is presented within the electronic message on a user interface. A query for data that is associated with the reference is sent to a database that stores a supplemental object, and in response, information extracted from the supplemental object is received. The visual representation of the captured portion is modified within the electronic message based on (i) the information extracted from the supplemental object and (ii) an interaction with the captured portion that generated the query, and such that more than the captured portion of the reference is presented within the electronic message without an additional action from the sender.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2016Publication date: August 3, 2017Inventors: Snehal S. Devasthali, Girish Padmanabhan, Maitreyee M. Patukale, Prasad P. Purandare
