  • Publication number: 20240084743
Abstract: Liquid fuel systems and methods are provided. A liquid fuel system includes a mixing unit and a plurality of liquid fuel supply systems. Each liquid fuel supply system is fluidly coupled to the mixing unit. The liquid fuel system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the mixing unit and the plurality of liquid fuel supply systems. The controller includes memory and one or more processors. The memory stores instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the liquid fuel system to perform operations including providing one or more liquid fuels from the plurality of liquid fuel supply systems to the mixing unit. The operations further include mixing, with the mixing unit, the one or more liquid fuels to create a liquid fuel mixture. The operations further include providing the liquid fuel mixture to a combustion section of a turbomachine.

  • Publication number: 20240003270
Abstract: A combined cycle power plant including a gas turbine engine having a compressor inlet and a turbine outlet that is configured to discharge a first exhaust gas stream therefrom. A heat recovery steam generator is configured to receive the first exhaust gas stream, extract heat from the first exhaust gas stream to make steam, and discharge a second exhaust gas stream therefrom. A steam turbine is configured to discharge a steam stream therefrom, a carbon capture system is configured to receive the steam stream, a recirculation blower is configured to pressurize a portion of the second exhaust gas stream for recirculation towards the compressor inlet, and an air inlet blower is configured to pressurize an airflow stream channeled towards the compressor inlet, such that a pressurized mixed flow stream, formed from the portion of the second exhaust gas stream and the airflow stream, is received at the compressor inlet.

  • Publication number: 20230313995
Abstract: A method includes delivering fuel and a first portion of oxidant as a rich mixture to the first zone of the combustion chamber. The fuel includes ammonia (NH3). The method further includes burning the rich mixture in the first zone. Combustion gases containing nitrogen oxides (NOx) are produced. The method further includes delivering a second portion of oxidant into the second zone to break down unburned ammonia into ammonia intermediates in the second zone. The nitrogen oxides (NOx) are consumed by reacting with the ammonia intermediates in the second zone. Byproduct hydrogen is produced as a result of breaking down the unburned ammonia into the ammonia intermediates. The method further includes delivering a third portion of oxidant into the third zone. The byproduct hydrogen is burned in the third zone. The third portion of oxidant is greater than the first portion of oxidant and the second portion of oxidant.

  • Publication number: 20210199025
Abstract: A power generation system includes a combustion system, a turbocharger, and a heat recovery system. The combustion system is configured to combust a fuel with a flow of air. The combustion system is further configured to generate an exhaust stream. The turbocharger is configured to compress a flow of compressed air and to channel the flow of compressed air to the combustion system. The combustion system is configured to combust the fuel with the flow of compressed air and an additional flow of air. The heat recovery system is configured to recover heat from the exhaust stream and to drive the turbocharger. The heat recovery system uses a supercritical working fluid to absorb heat from the exhaust stream and to drive the turbocharger.
