  • Patent number: 7889207
Abstract: An image apparatus (10) for providing an adjusted image (242) of a scene (236) includes a capturing system (16) and a control system (24). The capturing system (16) captures an underexposed first frame (240) that is defined by a plurality of pixels (240A), including a first pixel and a second pixel. The first frame (240) includes at least one of a first texture region (240S) and a second texture region (240T). The control system (24) can analyze information from the pixels (240A) and determine if the first pixel has captured a portion of the first texture region (240S) or the second texture region (240T). Further, the control system (16) can analyze information from the pixels (240A) and to determine if the second pixel has captured a portion of the first texture region (240S) or the second texture region (240T). With this design, the control system (16) can reduce the noise in the first frame (240) to provide a well exposed adjusted image (242).

  • Publication number: 20100066847
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging section, a memory, and a control section. The imaging section captures an image of an object and generates data of the image. The memory records pieces of feature information respectively corresponding to each of a plurality of registered objects to be recognized as recognition targets. The control section recognizes the registered objects included in the image based on the feature information. Further, the control section executes predetermined processing when two or more of specified objects which are specified among the registered objects are included in the image.

  • Patent number: 6897980
Abstract: An image reading system prescans and/or scans a film with magnetic recording and image data to be stored in a film cartridge after the film is developed. The image reading system employs a one-dimensional CCD and is capable of recording/reading retrievable ID numbers on a magnetic recording part. A thumbnail display simultaneously displays all image and magnetic information of all frames of a film, and selected frames to be scanned can be easily identified and compared after obtaining the image data of such film through prescanning. Magnetic recording information and image information are rapidly read during prescanning and selected frames are then scanned with more refinement as compared to the coarse scanning of the film during prescanning.

  • Patent number: 6472196
Abstract: In order to provide technical information necessary for the production of L-phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) by utilizing genetic engineering techniques, the structural gene for PAL and the amino acid sequence of PAL have been elucidated in Rhodosporidium toruloides, and novel recombinant DNA plasmids (e.g., pSW101, pYtrp6 and pKY201) have been created by inserting a DNA strand coding for the PAL gene between the 3′-terminus of the promoter region and the 5′-terminus of the terminator region. Moreover, transformants having such a novel recombinant DNA plasmid have been created, and a process for the production of PAL by growing such a novel transformant so as to cause PAL to be produced and accumulated in the culture has been established. Furthermore, there has been established a novel technique for the production of L-phenylalanine by reacting an ammonia donor with cinnamic acid in the presence of the PAL prepared by the aforesaid novel process.

  • Patent number: 6333758
Abstract: An image reading system that reads long-type film images and displays the images on a monitor screen. The image reading system includes a display method having the capability to effectively utilize, on the monitor screen, all of the image information that is on the film, and which allows easy imaging capability of the final image when changes have been made to the original image. The image reading system creates first image data corresponding to roughly the entire body of the image storage region based on the image signal, and creates second image data corresponding to the image of the image storage region that has been trimmed based on trimming-related information included in the image signal and magnetic information. The image reading system displays the first image corresponding to the first image data and the second image corresponding to the second image data on the display.
