  • Patent number: 8558435
Abstract: A piezoelectric device has a piezoelectric vibration element mounted in a package wherein the piezoelectric vibration element comprises two stick-like vibration legs; a central leg provided between the two vibration legs; a coupling portion that couples one end of each of the two vibration legs and one end of the central leg; and a protrusion portion that is coupled to another end of the central leg, has a predetermined angle, neither 0 nor 180 degrees, to the length direction of the central leg, and extends into a direction not interfering with the driving legs. In making the piezoelectric device smaller and thinner, this configuration avoids interference between a support point on the central leg, provided for supporting the vibration element, and conductive electrodes, improves insulation between the conductive electrodes, and reduces the generation of short-circuits between the conductive electrodes.

  • Patent number: 7394326
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a quartz oscillator having a stable temperature drift characteristic attributed to the quartz oscillating piece and a quartz oscillator are disclosed. The method comprises a quartz crystal etching step S1 of processing a quartz oscillating piece into a predetermined shape by etching, an electrode membrane forming step S2 of forming an electrode on the quartz oscillating piece, a quartz crystal mounting step S3 of mounting the quartz oscillating piece in an oscillator package, a leakage oscillation adjusting step S4 of driving the mounted quartz oscillating piece, detecting the leakage oscillation, and removing a part of the quartz oscillating piece depending on the detected leakage oscillation, and a re-etching step S6 of re-etching the quartz oscillating piece subjected to the removal.

  • Patent number: 5478864
Abstract: A novel disinfectant is disclosed. Said disinfectant is a compound 1,n-bis(N.sup.5 -m-, or p-trifluoromethyl-phenyl-N.sup.1 -biguanido)-C.sub.3 -C.sub.10 -alkane. The m-trifluoro-C.sub.6 derivative is a known compound. The compounds of the present invention exhibit germicidal effect against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris and Alcaligenes faecalis at concentrations of 1/4-1/8 of the effective concentration for chlorhexidine. Against other microorganisms, the compounds are effective at the same level as chlorhexidine.

  • Patent number: 5420350
Abstract: A novel bis-biguanide compound suitable for use as a disinfectant has the following formula: ##STR1## where n is an integer from 2 to 10 inclusive. A pharmaceutically acceptable salt, particularly gluconate salt of the compound is also useful as a disinfectant. The bis-biguanide compound has germicidal activities comparable to those of widely used chlorhexidine with respect to width of antibacterial spectrum and is superior to chlorhexidine in immediate effectiveness. It exhibits excellent germicidal activities against Pyocyaneus bacilli, on which chlorhexidine has poor effect.
