    Abstract: A circuit board includes a protective film of such a type that a mating contact slides on the protective film and rides over a pad, and is prevented from deteriorating due to attachment and detachment. A circuit board 10 includes a plate-shaped base body 40, a pad 20 formed on a surface of the base body 40 and responsible for electrical contact with a mating contact, and a protective film 30 that spreads on the surface of the base body 40 in contact with an edge of the pad 20. The edge of the pad 20 and a portion, which contacts the edge of the pad 20, of the protective film 30 respectively have heights consecutive to each other. The pad 20 contacts, by causing the mating contact that has slid in a sliding direction in contact with the protective film 30 to ride over the pad 20, the mating contact that has ridden over the pad 20.

The contacts are configured to make contact with a plurality of contact pads of a mating connector. The slide plate has a cam face composed of a pattern of projections and recesses and expanding in a direction intersecting with the mating direction. The moving plate expands in an overlapping manner with the slide plate and receives an action of the cam face caused by the sliding of the slide plate. The moving plate moves toward the mating connector and pushes the contacts onto the contact pads of the mating connector.

The slider has a cam face on an upper face thereof and it is slid in a lateral direction according to a driving operation of a lever. The lift plate receives an action of the cam face caused by sliding of the slider to move toward the mating connector.

    Abstract: A board mount-type connector having an insulative housing with a base and a row of contacts carried by the housing is disclosed. Each contact has a centerpiece secured to the housing along a substantially vertically upright inner wall of the base, a mating interface connected to one end of the centerpiece so that the mating interface contacts a mating contact, and a board interface connected to the remaining end of the centerpiece so that the board interface connects to a circuit board. Each board interface has a bend that initially extends away from an extension line associated with a generally vertically upright portion of the respective centerpiece and that is bent back toward the extension line. A pad interface extends from the free end of the board interface toward the extension line and the contacts of the row are staggered along a length of the row.
