Abstract: A system and method are provided for remotely monitoring images from an image capturing device. Image data from an image capturing component is received where image data represents images of a scene in a field of view of the image capturing component. The image data may be analyzed to determine that the scene has changed. A determination may be made that the scene has changed. In response to this determination being made, a communication may be transmitted to a designated device, recipient or network location. The communication may be informative that a scene change or event occurred. The communication may be in the form of a notification or an actual image or series of images of the scene after the change or event.

Abstract: a media file is electronically communicated by programmatically generating a link for an electronic communication, where the link identifies a media file that is stored on a given terminal of a user. Selection of the link at a remote terminal is detected, indicating that a recipient of the electronic communication has selected to view the media file. In response to the link in the message being selected from the remote terminal, streaming data from the media file to the recipient. An embodiment such as described may be performed from a user terminal or system, correspond to, for example, where the media file was recorded, created and/or stored.

Abstract: A directory view component runs on a host terminal. The directory view component is configured to interface with a file manager application resident on the host terminal. The file manager application provides an interface to a directory of the host terminal. The directory view component interfaces with the file manager to generate view data of the directory for use on a remote device.

Abstract: A media delivery system and technique are described to enable a media stream to be received at one end on a user's computer, and then re-streamed to a target device in a form that is suitable for that target. As an example of an implementation of such an embodiment, a streaming video and/or audio feed may be received on a user's media center, then re-streamed to a user's designated target device. The target device may correspond to, for example, another computer, a cell phone, or some other media output device.

Television content is transmitted to a television. Interactive content corresponding to the television content is transmitted to the computer via a network. A viewer using a computer with a graphical interface is able to respond to the interactive content and transmit commands to the television via the network.
