  • Patent number: 11550526
Abstract: An image forming system that is capable of causing an image forming apparatus to suitably carry out communication using a mobile communication system, the image forming system including an image processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus. Control information used to carry out an image forming process in which an image is formed on a sheet based on image data generated by an image processing apparatus is output from first and second millimeter wave communication interfaces of the image processing apparatus. The output control information is received by third and fourth millimeter wave communication interfaces of the image forming apparatus. Response information that is a response to the control information is output from the third and fourth millimeter wave communication interfaces and sent to the image processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11206333
Abstract: There is provided an image reading apparatus including a reading unit configured to sequentially read respective pages of a target original consisting of a plurality of pages to generate read images, and a determining unit configured to determine whether there is a missing page in the read images. The determining unit is configured to determine whether there is a missing page in the read images by applying, to a learned model, determination data based on a pair of consecutively-generated read images of the target original. The learned model is a model that has been derived through machine teaming using input data based on image pairs of consecutive pages and image pairs of non-consecutive pages of the original for learning, and training data that indicates whether each image pair is a pair of consecutive pages.

  • Patent number: 10730712
Abstract: A conveyance apparatus is capable of detecting the presence or absence of multi feeding with high accuracy even when a received waveform varies due to a “noise from the circuit” and an “influence due to vibrations,” which are fixedly generated noise components. The conveyance apparatus includes an original conveying motor configured to convey an original; an ultrasonic transmitter, which is arranged at one of positions sandwiching a conveyance path along which the original is conveyed, and transmits an ultrasonic wave toward the conveyance path; and an ultrasonic receiver, which is arranged at the other one of the positions sandwiching the conveyance path, and receives the ultrasonic wave transmitted from the ultrasonic transmitter. The conveyance apparatus compares a received wave amplitude exhibited with sheet-presence against a threshold value determined based on a received wave amplitude exhibited with sheet-absence to determine whether the original is conveyed with multi feeding.

  • Patent number: 9981819
Abstract: A transmitter transmits ultrasound to the conveyance path. A receiver receives the ultrasound. A double-feed detector detects whether or not double-feed of a plurality of sheets has occurred. A controller causes the transmitter to transmit ultrasound at a first burst interval when determining the threshold value, and causes the transmitter to transmit ultrasound at a second burst interval, which is shorter than the first burst interval, when detecting the double-feed of sheets. A double-feed detector determines a threshold value that enables distinction between double-feed and single-feed.

  • Patent number: 8203761
Abstract: When an auto document feeder feeds an original to an original image reading platen, a CCD line sensor reads the original along the main scanning direction perpendicular to the feeding direction of the original. A string detection circuit detects a streak parallel to the feeding direction in the image. A string correction circuit corrects the detected streak. In particular, for a predetermined number of sub-scanning positions that are located in the same main scanning position as the main scanning position at which the streak has been detected by the string detection circuit and that exist subsequent to the sub-scanning position at which the streak has been detected, correction is performed by the string correction circuit even when no streak is detected by the string detection circuit.

  • Patent number: 7920197
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus includes the following units. An image pickup unit captures an image and outputs an analog image signal. A conversion unit converts the analog image signal into a digital image signal. A synchronization signal generation unit generates a synchronization signal to be supplied to the image pickup unit and the conversion unit, and supplies the synchronization signal to the image pickup unit. An adjustment unit adjusts the timing at which the synchronization signal generated by the synchronization signal generation unit is supplied to the conversion unit, and supplies the synchronization signal to the conversion unit. The adjustment unit is disposed in a position such that the adjustment unit is affected by the self-heating of the image pickup unit.
