  • Patent number: 7490301
Abstract: There is provided a computer readable recording medium that stores a program for managing CAD data so as to easily reproduce an assembly structure previously confirmed by an operator. The program causes a computer to perform first and second steps. The first step causes a unit to be displayed on the basis of assembly data and parts data in response to a display request. The parts data includes data about shapes of parts and version information about versions of the parts. The assembly data defines a structure of the unit formed by one or more parts. The second step assigns the version information about parts that form the unit displayed to the assembly data.

  • Patent number: 7155504
Abstract: A data delivery system which delivers created data to all the parties that need it. Documents such as engineering drawings are stored as bulk data files in a bulk data database. Metadata files containing attribute information of bulk data are stored in a metadata database. When the date and time of a data distribution session is given to a date/time setting unit, an attribute identification unit makes access to a relevant metadata file to identify the attributes of the bulk data to be transmitted. Based on this result, a destination determination unit determines the destinations of each bulk data file. A format identification unit then identifies which data formats the receiving stations can handle. If necessary, the data format is changed by a format converter, so as to meet the requirements of each destination. Summary data briefly describes what kinds of bulk data files are to be distributed. A summary data transmitter compiles such summary data and sends it to the receiving stations.

  • Patent number: 7013190
Abstract: A model management apparatus capable of efficient management of bulk data which has a large amount of information. When new bulk data is stored in bulk data storing means of an in-process server, encrypting means encrypts the bulk data. Transmitting means acquires meta-data corresponding to the bulk data from meta-data storing means, and transmits the acquired meta-data, along with a decryption key necessary for decrypting the encrypted data, to a formal server. The formal server stores the meta-data and the decryption key supplied thereto in storing means in a manner associated with each other. When a browse request for registered bulk data is received from a certain terminal, acquiring means retrieves corresponding meta-data and decryption key from the storing means, and returning means transmits the acquired meta-data and decryption key to the terminal which has made the browse request.

  • Patent number: 6885367
Abstract: A three-dimensional model management system wherein a hierarchical structure and data peculiar to a three-dimensional model created by three-dimensional CAD are excluded to display a configuration view screen showing a configuration close to that of an actual object. Attribute information acquiring unit of the three-dimensional model management system acquires part names, as attribute information, from a three-dimensional model stored in a storage device. Sorting unit sorts the acquired part names in accordance with a hierarchical structure which the three-dimensional model has. Display form setting unit makes settings such that, for example, dummy data which is used for the sake of convenience of design and has no substance is not displayed on screen. Editing unit edits the part names sorted by the sorting unit, in accordance with the settings made by the display form setting unit. Output unit supplies the part names edited by the editing unit to a display device to be displayed thereby.

  • Patent number: 6571203
Abstract: In a CAD-data management system for managing a plurality of types of CAD data: a plurality of CAD-data processing units are capable of processing a plurality of predetermined types of CAD data, respectively: a processing-request generation unit receives a manipulation input designating CAD data of one of the plurality of types, and generates a processing request corresponding to the manipulation input and being directed to one of the plurality of CAD-data processing units which is capable of processing CAD data of the one of the plurality of types; and a linkage processing unit executes processing defined in a function in conjunction with the one of the plurality of CAD-data processing units, where the function is predefined corresponding to the processing request.
