The commodity sales data processing apparatus receives an operation to issue an electronic receipt; when receiving the operation, reads a code that is displayed on the portable terminal; when reading the code; generates detail data of electronic receipt information; and sends the code and the detail data of electronic receipt information to the electronic receipt server. The electronic receipt server receives the code and the detail data of electronic receipt information; and stores the code and the detail data of electronic receipt information in a storage section in association with each other. The portable terminal receives an input of the code; receives, from the storage section, electronic receipt information associated with the code received; and displays thereon the electronic receipt information received.
