Abstract: An item search device comprises the following: a downtown information acquiring unit that acquires downtown information about downtowns; a search condition setting unit for setting search conditions for search for the downtowns; and a downtown search unit that searches desired downtowns from the downtown information based on the search conditions. With this structure, the user can appropriately and efficiently find a desired downtown.

Abstract: An operating device has multiple operating switches that are displayed in a display device. Each time each operating switch is operated, an operation frequency that is stored is incremented. A control circuit mixes, on the display device, display colors of a background and display colors of the operating switches. When a first operating switch has a high operation frequency, a mixing ratio of the display colors of the background for displaying the first operating switch is lowered. When a second operating switch has a low operation frequency, the mixing ratio of the display colors of the background for the second operating switch is increased. Thus, the operating switches are displayed with transmittancies corresponding to their operation frequencies regardless of whether the background is fixed or variable.

Abstract: An item search device of the present invention includes, for an improvement of the usability of the item search device by facilitating an item search for a user, an electronic map data storage function for storing map data including a facility name and an area name as an object of an item search, a search function for searching a search item, a start point setting function for setting a start point in the map data, a distance calculation function for calculating a distance from the start point to a location of the search item, a rank function for ranking the search item based on the distance from the start point, a representation function for determining a representation of the search item according to a rank of the search item and a display function for displaying the representation of the search item.
