  • Patent number: 4866512
Abstract: Three linear image sensors (14B, 14G and 14R) read the image of an original (1) being moved along the subscanning direction (-Y), by receiving lights (L.sub.B, L.sub.G and L.sub.R) from respective instantaneous reading lines (W.sub.B, W.sub.G and W.sub.R), respectively. Scanning line switching clocks serving as sensor drive timing signals are supplied from a control circuit (20) to the linear image sensors, respectively. These clocks are time-shifted from each other by the time shift values calculated from deviations between the instantaneous reading positions and scanning line pitch, thereby the linear image sensors read common scanning lines.

Abstract: An optical system, useful for a flying-spot scanning apparatus includes a laser tube, an acousto-optical modulator, a deflecting mirror directing the laser beam in a first direction, and an objective lens having the characteristic of h=f.multidot.sin .theta., where h is the distance on an object between the optical axis and the point upon which the laser beam impinges, f is the focal length of the objective lens and .theta. is the angle formed by the beam entering the objective lens with respect to the optical axis. The objective lens includes a first optical unit having the negative focal length and a second optical unit having a positive focal length. The third-order distortion coefficient of the objective lens is approximately "1". Straight and parallel scanning loci can be effected on a recording medium, as the recording medium is fed in a second direction.

  • Patent number: 4823289
Abstract: Desired reproduction of images is obtained by framing originals on an original scanning drum for trimming based upon position and size data calculated by a CPU. Reproduction image position data are obtained from a block copy and magnification data. Scan start and scan end points for scanning of a plurality of original images are determined, prior to the scanning procedure, based on the configuration of frames provided in a translucent sheet obtained from recording trimming frames.

  • Patent number: 4807020
Abstract: Image reproduction condition data requisite for reproducing the images of plural originals are stored in a memory. In the system, certain of the data are automatically rad and set up to implement circuits which process image data successively for all the originals. A master processor communicates with intermediate processors. The implement circuits are controlled by subrodinate processors, which in turn are responsive to the intermediate processors or to the master processor. The system is further operable for accepting input of scanning condition data for one original while the system is reproducing an image of another original.

  • Patent number: 4775886
Abstract: An apparatus for editing picture images and reproducing edited images is disclosed. Positional information, which indicates areas of a film and color plate for which editing operations (including cropping, processing, bordering, flat tone processing, and cutting mask processing) are to be performed, is gathered in process for each color which is included in the color plate. Picture signals are obtained by photoelectrically scanning color original pictures, and the signals are stored and processed; a halftone dot area is created and the ratio data necessary for carrying out the above-described processing is selected and the color plate signals are organized so that the halftone dot area ratio is produced with pre-determined priority order according to the positional information. The editing apparatus thus performs sequentially the process of reproducing original images by recording and arranging the images according to a programmed operator selectable format.

  • Patent number: 4668996
Abstract: A sub scanning line counter and a main scanning position counter count absolute record-scanning position. A halftone pattern memory outputs binary image output signals for resulting halftone dots in response to comparison of halftone dot density of a halftone pattern partial position previously related with the aboslute record-scanning position determined by count values of the sub scanning line counter and the main scanning position counter with density of the image input signal at that time. A preset value calculating circuit calculates, in case of starting record-scanning from the middle of the recording screen, the count value of the sub scanning line counter corresponding to the scanning start point in advance to starting scanning, thereby to preset the calculated value in the sub scanning line counter.

  • Patent number: 4656504
Abstract: In allocating recording areas corresponding to a plurality of originals onto photosensitive films, at first the allocation state of previously allocated areas of a photosensitive film is displayed, and an operator establishes, near an ideal recording start point, an approximate recording start point of an area to be allocated. Then the approximate recording start point is moved to a conclusive (ideal) recording start point at predetermined distances from the hind edges of the previously allocated images in the main and the subscanning directions.

  • Patent number: 4547814
Abstract: A method for recording a halftone picture electronically, for use in a halftone picture reproducing machine for plate making is disclosed. A plurality of halftone data corresponding to a plurality of picture elements of a vignette halftone dot is simultaneously read out of a memory in which the vignette halftone dot quantized is stored, in synchronization with picture signals, and the halftone data and the picture signals are added to obtain recording signals, and according to the recording signals a plurality of light beams for exposure are controlled to be open or close, thereby recording a halftone picture. The number of the light beams included in a recording scanning width is selected depending on a screen pitch, and then the selected light beams are controlled according to the recording signals.
