  • Publication number: 20040160669
Abstract: The present invention relates to a diffusion sheet for use in a transmission-type screen comprising a main diffusion layer having an incidence surface and an emergence surface which are parallel to each other, the main diffusion layer diffusing a light, which is substantially perpendicularly incident on the incidence surface, in a diffusion direction to be emitted from the emergence surface. A plurality of groove channels each having a substantially V-shaped cross-section are disposed in parallel to one another on the emergence surface of the main diffusion layer, and each groove channel are formed by two planes, curved surfaces, or bent planes which are joined to each other in the main diffusion layer. A region sandwiched between the adjacent two groove channels provides a rib with a substantially trapezoidal cross-section, while the planes, curved surfaces, or bent planes which form each groove channel provide side surfaces of the rib. The light substantially.

  • Publication number: 20040136064
Abstract: The present invention provides a lens sheet capable of preventing reflection of extraneous light without decreasing extraneous light absorption, having extraneous light absorbers that can be readily formed by printing and are scarcely stained. The present invention also provides a rear projection screen including such a lens sheet. A rear projection screen 10 is composed of a Fresnel lens sheet 11 and a lenticular lens sheet 12 placed on the viewing side of the Fresnel lens sheet 11. The lenticular lens sheet 12 has lenses 121 formed on those portions of the light-emergent-side surface of the sheet-shaped substrate part 12a through which light converged by lenses 125 pass, and extraneous light absorbers 122 formed on those portions of the light-emergent-side surface of the sheet-shaped substrate part 12a through which light converged by lenses 125 does not pass.

  • Patent number: 6597502
Abstract: A rear projection screen including a Fresnel lens sheet arranged on the projection side, and a lenticular lens sheet arranged on the observation side. The Fresnel lens sheet has a lenticular lens for vertical diffusion on its light-entering side. The lenticular lens for vertical diffusion contains a plurality of convex lenses that extend horizontally, and these plural convex lenses are arranged with a constant pitch. Further, the diffusion angle of the lenticular lens for vertical diffusion continuously increases, and, at the same time, the direction of diffusion is gradually inclined to the central part side as the distance from the central part toward each of the edges on the screen surface increases. The diffusion properties (the angle and direction of diffusion) of the lenticular lens thus continuously vary between the central part and edges of the screen surface.

  • Publication number: 20030030903
Abstract: A Fresnel lens sheet comprises a Fresnel lens on one surface thereof, wherein respective unit surfaces constructing the Fresnel lens sheet have rough surfaces. Since it has a rough surface, it enables suppressing the occurrence of moire, when making up a screen. The other Fresnel lens sheet comprises a Fresnel lens on one surface thereof, and a fly-eye lens or prisms as a regular concavities and convexities configuration for suppressing regular reflection on the surface thereof on a side opposite to the side having the Fresnel lens formed thereon. Since it has on its rear surface a fly-eye lens or a prism, it enables suppressing the occurrence of ghost image.
