  • Patent number: 10755672
Abstract: A playback device is configured to be connected to a display device. The playback device includes a communication component and a controller. The communication component communicates with the display device. The controller acquires setting information indicating a current setting of a brightness range in the display device from the display device via the communication component. While a specific brightness range has not been set in the display device, the controller transmits information related to a setting change to the specific brightness range via the communication component to the display device based on correspondence information indicating a correspondence relationship between the display device and the brightness range that is settable in the display device.

  • Patent number: 10171847
Abstract: An information device is provided that includes a communication component and a controller. The communication component communicates with an external device. The controller downloads video data from the external device through the communication component. The controller performs processing for playing the video data. The controller executes an application for playing the downloaded video data. The controller sends a download request for each divided video data, with the divided video data being obtained by dividing up the video data.

  • Patent number: 7609937
Abstract: A recording apparatus repeatedly records an image received by a tuner such that a reproduction time reaches a predetermined time, when any key provided on an operating portion or a remote control device is continuously pressed for a constant time during recording. Therefore, when a program is recorded on a recording medium, a user continuously operates any key provided on the operating portion or the remote control device, to thereby put a section on the program. As a result, the user can simply confirm the section of the program recorded on the DVD when reproducing.

  • Publication number: 20040037125
Abstract: An address from which a disk drive is caused to start reading is set in step SA1, and reading is started in step SA2. Determination is made in step SA3 as to whether an error has occurred. In occurrence of an error, in step SA4, it is determined whether resetting of the read start address in step SA5 has been conducted a predetermined number of times or a predetermined time period has passed from the start of the read operation. If so, the read operation is terminated. If not, in step SA5, the address from which the disk drive is caused to start reading is reset to one sector ahead of the sector currently set. The process then returns to SA2, and the read operation is started from the reset address.
