  • Patent number: 5796415
Abstract: An ink jet recording head wherein at least peripheral portions of discharge ports comprise a film which contains a polymer having a fluorine heterocyclic structure in the principal chain.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 1996
Date of Patent: August 18, 1998
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Makoto Inoue, deceased, Tsuneo Inoue, executor, Kazuaki Masuda, Shigeo Toganoh, Manabu Sueoka, Keiichi Murai, Takashi Watanabe, Akira Goto, Motoaki Sato
  • Patent number: 5594479
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a recording head for use in an ink jet head involves providing a discharge port formation member having a surface in which orifices are to be formed, treating a discharge port face of the discharge port formation member with a water-repellent material, and forming orifices by applying radiation from a pulsed laser beam to the discharge port formation member which has been treated by the material having a water-repellent property, so that forming the orifices creates byproducts. The method also involves sticking at least once a tape having an adhesive layer against the discharge port face of the discharge port formation member against at least peripheral portions of the orifices having the byproducts created in the orifice forming step sticking thereto and deposited therein, and peeling the tape therefrom.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 15, 1993
Date of Patent: January 14, 1997
    Assignee: Canon Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Makoto Inoue, deceased, by Tsuneo Inoue, heir, Kazuaki Masuda, Shigeo Toganoh, Manabu Sueoka, Keiichi Murai, Takashi Watanabe, Akira Goto, Motoaki Sato
  • Patent number: 5365255
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a recording head for use in an ink jet printer involves the steps of, after treating a surface of a discharge port formation member having plural discharge ports formed thereon, which formation member is formed with a material having a water-repellent property, forming the discharge ports by applying radiation from a pulsed laser beam, and then performing heat treatment for eliminating byproducts from the orifice forming sticking to and deposited in peripheries of the discharge ports, or if an orifice plate, byproducts sticking to peripheries of the discharge ports.
    Type: Grant
