Patent number: 9120615Abstract: A groove inclined path for diagonally downwardly delivering hydrogenated petroleum resin pellets loaded through a loading port is provided in a storage hopper for storing the hydrogenated petroleum resin pellets. The groove inclined path is defined by a plurality of groove-inclined-path members each having an inclined plate and side plates to define a groove structure, the groove-inclined-path members being vertically disposed so that flow directions of the hydrogenated petroleum resin pellets become opposite. The vertically adjacent ones of the groove-inclined-path members are disposed so that the hydrogenated petroleum resin pellets dropped from upper one of the groove-inclined-path members are brought into contact with the plate member of immediately lower one of the groove-inclined-path members to reverse a flow direction thereof, thereby reducing a flow speed of the hydrogenated petroleum resin pellets.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2012Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: IDEMITSU KOSAN CO., LTD.Inventors: Makoto Kashima, Hajime Takasugi

Patent number: 9034976Abstract: After a cyclopentadiene compound and a vinyl aromatic compound are thermally polymerized, the obtained copolymer is subjected to a hydrogenation reaction to form a hydrogenated product. After most of the hydrogenation solvent is separated by a solvent evaporation tank from the hydrogenated product, an additive separately prepared by dissolving an antioxidant is added to the hydrogenated product to form a mixture. While the hydrogenation solvent is a naphthenic solvent, the additive is prepared by dissolving the antioxidant in an aromatic additive solvent having the same carbon atoms as those of the hydrogenation solvent. Then, the low-molecular-weight component as well as the remaining hydrogenation solution and the additive solvent are separated by a thin-film evaporator from the mixture. The obtained molten resin is pelletized to produce hydrogenated petroleum resin pellets. The time for uniformly blending the antioxidant can be shortened.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2012Date of Patent: May 19, 2015Assignee: IDEMITSU KOSAN CO., LTD.Inventor: Makoto Kashima

Patent number: 9023944Abstract: A method including measuring a near-infrared absorption spectrum of a hydrogenated compound in the form of a molten resin from which a hydrogenation solvent is separated to calculate an aromatic content ratio and a softening point as physical property values of the hydrogenated compound based on analytical curve data. At least one of a temperature, pressure, reaction time and hydrogen content in a hydrogenating portion is controlled such that a difference between the aromatic content ratio and the bromine number measured in the near-infrared spectrometry and an aromatic content ratio and bromine number of a target hydrogenated petroleum resin pellet becomes small.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2012Date of Patent: May 5, 2015Assignee: Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takanori Hayashi, Hajime Takasugi, Makoto Kashima
