Publication number: 20040178902Abstract: In a system for warning a failure to wear a seat belt to urge a vehicle operator to wear the seat belt, a sound emitter is activated when a vehicle speed is higher than a threshold level and the seat belt is not fastened. The sound emitter cyclically alternates between a sound emitting state and a silent state when activated, the silent state lasting for a period of at least three seconds each time. Because the silent state is interposed between sound emitting states and because the warning is not emitted when traveling for a short period of time at a low speed, for instance, in a parking garage or the like or when the vehicle is stationary, the annoyance to the vehicle operator is minimized while allowing the vehicle operator to be kept warned.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2004Publication date: September 16, 2004Applicant: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.Inventors: Makoto Koike, Naoki Fukui, Tsutomu Terasaki

Publication number: 20040008874Abstract: New information is provided based on a photographic image received from a terminal. A congeniality determination server communicates with a user terminal through a public network and the Internet. The congeniality determination server receives a facial image at a communication module, a face's distinctive features based on each received facial image are extracted at a control module and a face type based on the extracted face's distinctive features is determined. Congeniality between two persons corresponding to the combination of the two face types determined from the two facial images is then determined. The congeniality determination server transmits the determined congeniality between two persons from the communication module to the terminal user.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2003Publication date: January 15, 2004Inventor: Makoto Koike

Patent number: 5635903Abstract: Based on detected information from a start sensor, a rotational speed sensor (or a vehicle speed sensor), and an accelerator opening sensor, a simulated sound selector device controls a simulated sound source device to generate a simulated sound signal corresponding to an operating condition of an electric vehicle when it starts, runs and is accelerated or decelerated, and also controls a sound level switcher device to adjust the level of the simulated sound signal. The simulated sound signal which is generated by the simulated sound source device and adjusted in level by the sound level switcher device is amplified by amplifiers, which drive respective loudspeakers to produce simulated sounds. The sound level switcher device is also controlled based on an ambient noise level detected by a noise sensor.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1994Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Makoto Koike, Masashi Kitagawa, Kazunari Ishiguro
