  • Patent number: 8290348
Abstract: The present invention provides an AV data recording apparatus and method that facilitate various processes concerning a recorded video, including continuous reproduction, digital transmission, file operation, partial deletion, and post-recording. The AV data recording apparatus divides an audio signal and a video signal into transport packets having a predetermined unit length, assembles a plurality of transport packets as one transport stream and executes recording. Accordingly, this invention enables managing whether a logical block is used or not, detecting a continuous data area comprising plural logical blocks that ensure realtime continuous reproduction, and determining logical block numbers of continuous data areas to be recorded. As a result, the transport stream is recorded continuously on a plurality of detected continuous data areas.

  • Patent number: 7333713
Abstract: In a disk camera, when additional information and moving picture information are managed as one file and recorded on an optical disk, useless area is minimized, thereby allowing effective use of recording capacity. A recording controlling part records continuously with respect to a logical block of the optical disk, at least one of input video and audio information in a packet format of a fixed length that is different from a data size of the logical block, and creates a data file for recording with respect to the logical block, additional information with respect to the video or audio information in the packet format of the fixed length. In this one data file, a fixed data size portion of the additional information is arranged in an area ahead of an area in which the video and audio information are arranged, and a variable data size portion of the additional information is arranged in an area behind the area in which the video and audio information are arranged.

  • Patent number: 6956798
Abstract: An operation of a recording/reproducing portion is controlled by a control portion so as to record data in a predetermined recording region on a recording medium, and perform update recording in the predetermined recording region in accordance with occurrence of update information of the data. The control portion further has a function of controlling the recording/reproducing portion so as to record an update portion of data in a temporary storage region in a part of the recording medium and record an update flag showing whether the predetermined recording region has been updated with the update portion or has not been updated with the update portion in an update flag region, and in update recording with respect to the predetermined recording medium, successively performs operations of recording the update portion in the temporary storage region, setting the update flag in a non-updated state, recording the update portion in the predetermined recording region, and setting the update flag in an updated state.

  • Publication number: 20030142954
Abstract: A reproduction description system for the purpose of controlling reproduction of plural multimedia data, for reproduction description data directly or indirectly designating reproduction time of each data. In this system, a processed data object generated by applying a set effect to a part of data object corresponding to reproduction target multimedia data, with processed data identification information indicating an attribute for discrimination of processed data, is added to the reproduction description data. Further, first and second data objects are generated from the data object and added to the reproduction description data. Then, reproduction time designation of the first and second data objects in the reproduction description data is changed so as to obtain the same reproduction image as that in a case where the set effect is applied to the data object.

  • Patent number: 5892982
Abstract: An external expansion bus interface circuit is provided for connecting a peripheral to a micro control unit to exchange digital information under an external expansion memory mode of the micro control unit. For this purpose, the eternal expansion bus interface circuit includes a means for storing a writing data. Address decoder and a strobe decoder are connected to the micro control unit to directly receive the writing data, an address strobe, and a write strobe. Then the address decoder and strobe decoder produce a write enable signal for enabling the memory to store the data at address designated thereby.

  • Patent number: 5444580
Abstract: A helical scan type digital recording/reproducing apparatus arranged such that data corresponding to m fields/frames are divisionally recorded in n tracks on a magnetic tape and a slow, still or frame advance reproduction mode is effected in response to an instruction from an external input. The apparatus is equipped with a signal processing circuit coupled to a rotary head for inputting data reproduced from the magnetic tape by the rotary head to store the reproduced data in a memory. In response to the instruction for the slow, still or frame advance reproduction mode, the signal processing circuit outputs a control signal when the data corresponding to one or more frames/fields are stored in the memory. Also included is a servo circuit coupled through a signal line to the signal processing circuit to be responsive to the control signal from the signal processing circuit. The servo circuit controls a capstan motor in accordance with the control signal and the reproduction mode instruction.
