  • Patent number: 7333048
Abstract: In a periphery monitoring system for monitoring movements of a mobile object around an installation location of a Doppler sensor, a signal output from the Doppler sensor is subjected to an FFT analysis, and a total sum of the frequency levels of all of the frequency bands obtained through the FFT analysis is calculated at predetermined time intervals. A reference level and abnormal level are set based on the calculated total sum. If the calculated total sum exceeds the abnormal level and falls to or below the abnormal level before a first set period passes since the exceeding of the abnormal level, the periphery status is determined to be abnormal. If the total sum exceeds the abnormal level but does not fall to or below the abnormal level even after the first set period passes since the exceeding of the abnormal level, the periphery status is determined to be normal, and the reference level is updated to a new reference level set based on total sums calculated during the first set period.

  • Publication number: 20070241959
Abstract: A timepiece comprises a reception subunit, a timekeeping unit that holds internal time data indicative of the current time, storage, and a CPU. The CPU determines whether the internal time data acquired from the timekeeping unit matches correction time data stored in storage, selects a GPS satellite represented by satellite identification data stored in the storage when the determination is affirmative, acquires GPS time data included in navigation data which in turn is included in a GPS signal obtained from the selected GPS satellite, corrects the internal time data based on the GPS time data, and stores the correction time data in correspondence to the satellite identification data representing that GPS satellite.

  • Publication number: 20070230285
Abstract: A time correction control apparatus which calculates a time difference between hour/minute/second indicated in hour/minute/second information included in a received GPS signal, and which corrects counted year/month/date and hour/minute/second by using both the received year/month/date information and hour/minute/second information when the calculated time difference is greater than the predetermined time difference, and corrects the counted hour/minute/second by using the received hour/minute/second information when the calculated time difference is smaller than the predetermined time difference.

  • Publication number: 20070122264
Abstract: The pump (10, 110, 210) may comprise a casing (39, 139, 239) and a substantially disk-shaped impeller (36, 136, 236) that rotates within the casing. A group of depression-shaped grooves may be formed on at least one of the front and reverse surfaces of the impeller and the two casing internal surfaces in opposition to these surfaces. The depression-shaped grooves may extend from the center towards the outer periphery of the impeller. When the impeller rotates, fuel within the clearance between the impeller and the casing is propelled, within the depression-shaped grooves, from the center towards the periphery. In this way, forces are generated in the direction that increases the clearance between the impeller and the casing. It is preferred that the group of depression-shaped grooves 38b is formed closely spaced near the discharge hole 50 (area B), and elsewhere (area C) is formed more widely spaced.

  • Publication number: 20050126940
Abstract: The invention relates to a case for hydrating a moisture-containing contact lens in a dry condition, a hydrating device, and a hydrating method. A case (2) comprises a plurality of grooves (8) provided in the inside face (6) of a recess (4). A lens is placed in the case, a proper amount of a hydrating liquid is poured along the inside wall face of the recess (4) in the case in a first step. Then in a second step, a hydrating liquid is poured into the recess from above the case to allow the contact lens (3) to absorb water and swell. Accordingly, a wide extent of a lens front surface can come into contact evenly with the hydrating liquid in the first step, and the entire lens can be hydrated in the second step, whereby an efficient hydration is possible with lens curling and bubble entrapping prevented.

  • Patent number: 6559794
Abstract: A position determining system, a receiving system, a method of determining the position of a movable object and a method of receiving data regarding the position of the movable object are provided. The position determining system comprise a position determining unit, a display unit and a controller. The position determining unit determines the position of a movable object based on position information sent from GPS satellites. The display unit displays the position of the movable object which has been determined by the position determining unit. The controller controls a time interval at which the position of the movable object is determined by said position determining unit, in accordance with a degree of position change occurring in the position to be displayed on the display unit. Accordingly, in the position determining system, elimination of consumption power can be realized in a position determination process which is not necessarily performed, while the system is advantageously handled.

A first resin mold having a molding surface providing one of the opposite lens-forming surfaces of the contact lens material is injection-molded by closing a first and a second die to define at least one mold cavity and injecting a resin material into the mold cavity. A second resin mold having a molding surface is injection-molded by closing a third and a fourth die to define at least one mold cavity and injecting a resin material into the second mold cavity. The dies are separate away from each other and molding material is introduced into one of the resin molds which are held on one of the respective dies. The dies holding the first and second resin molds are moved relative to each other to assemble the first and second resin molds to define a mold cavity for the contact lens material.

  • Patent number: 5681463
Abstract: A portable liquid purifying device for dispensing a liquid, which includes a squeezable bottle made of a soft material and containing a mass of the liquid, a filtering member removably engaging a bottleneck of the bottle, and a cover assembly for covering a spout formed through the filtering member so as to fluid-tightly close the spout. The filtering member has a first section which accommodates activated carbon, and a second section which accommodates a micro-porous membrane filter including hollow fibers, the first and second sections being disposed in series so that the liquid delivered out of the bottle passes through the first and second sections in this order. The filtering member is fluid-tightly and air-tightly attached to the bottleneck such that the filtering member does not protrude past the bottleneck. The cover assembly has a first position for fluid-tightly closing the spout, and a second position for opening the spout so as to permit the liquid to flow out of the device.

  • Patent number: 5537101
Abstract: When the current time data in current time counting device has been corrected on the basis of the current time data transmitted over radiowaves, it is judged whether or not an alarm time is present between the time data before correction and the time data after correction. If an alarm time is present, the user is informed of the alarm time. This avoids the problem of failing to inform the user of the alarm time at that day. Furthermore, the correspondence between the current time data in the current time counting device and the time data in different functional device is prevented from changing as follows when the current time data has been corrected on the basis of the received time data, the time data in the different functional device is also corrected as much as the same correction time, or while the different functional device is operating, the time correcting operation is prevented from being carried out even if the time correction timing has been reached.
