The evaluation section evaluates the comparison result image data whenever a frame cycle elapses in a case where the comparison result image data represents that there is difference and evaluates the comparison result image data after a period longer than the frame cycle elapses in a case where the comparison result image data represents that there is no difference between the pre-update image data and the post-update image data.

A projector as a display device displays an image corresponding to picture signals output from a portable terminal on a screen. A camera as an imaging unit of the portable terminal captures an image of the screen with a finger. The portable terminal detects a trajectory of the finger on the screen based on the captured image. The portable terminal generates an image corresponding to the detected trajectory, synthesizes the generated image and an image corresponding to image data, and generates a synthetic image. The portable terminal outputs picture signals corresponding to the generated synthetic image to the projector.
