    Abstract: An abrasion resistant aluminum alloy characterized in that the aluminum alloy has a chemical composition basically containing 7.5-15 wt % of Si, 3.0-6.0 wt % of Cu, 0.3-1.0 wt % of Mg, 0.25-1.0 wt % of Fe, 0.25-1.0 wt % of Mn, and the balance of Al and impurities, and an alloy structure with a primary Si crystal size smaller than 80 microns, a Si-Mn-Fe compound grain size smaller than 120 microns, and an alpha-Al phase size smaller than 100 microns.
