    Abstract: A swash plate which is made of an iron-based or aluminum-based material and is used in a single-side compression type swash-plate compressor. A flame-sprayed copper-based alloy layer is formed on at least a sliding surface with a first shoe in a compression space side. The flame-sprayed copper-based alloy layer contains in total, by weight percentage, not less than 0.5% and not more than 50% of one or more kinds selected from not more than 40% of lead, not more than 30% of tin, not more than 0.5% of phosphorus, not more than 15% of aluminum, not more than 10% of silver, not more than 5% of silicon, not more than 5% of manganese, not more than 5% of chromium, not more than 20% of nickel, and not more than 30% of zinc and the balance essentially copper and impurities. Electrolytic plating, electroless plating, lubricant coating, phophatizing or hardening is applied on at least a second sliding surface with a second shoe in the side opposite to the compression space.
