  • Publication number: 20070036549
Abstract: An optical transmission apparatus that improves the reliability of system operation by efficiently limiting the line speed of a signal sent from a user with a guard mechanism. An optical branching section makes an optical signal branch in two directions. A through branching line passes an optical signal in its original condition and sends the optical signal as a through optical branch signal. A delay branching line delays an optical signal by a delay amount set and sends the optical signal as a delayed optical branch signal. An optical multiplexing section combines the through optical branch signal and the delayed optical branch signal.

  • Patent number: 7113700
Abstract: An optical transmission system includes an optical wavelength branching unit that shifts a wavelength transmission band in the short-wavelength or long-wavelength directions based on a branching filter operation temperature, and performs a branching operation on a wavelength-multiplexed signal. A reception transponder performs decoding on an error correction code. An error correction monitoring unit gathers an error correction amount upon which a branching filter temperature control unit sets the branching filter operation temperature. A transmission transponder performs encoding on an error correction code. An optical wavelength combining unit shifts the wavelength transmission band in the opposite direction from the shifting direction based on a combining filter operation temperature, to perform a combining operation on optical signals and output a wavelength-multiplexed optical signal.

  • Publication number: 20060210220
Abstract: A dispersion compensating method for carrying out automatic level control with the use of target output power and an ASE correction value corresponding to the number of wavelengths to multiplex and making output power of a wavelength multiplexed signal constant, comprising the steps of: switching into automatic gain control in which the output power of the wavelength multiplexed signal is made constant, to carry out increase/decrease of the wavelengths to multiplex; varying a dispersion compensating amount based on the increase/decrease of the wavelengths by the automatic gain control; calculating an ASE variation amount due to the change in the dispersion compensating amount; and reflecting the ASE variation amount on the ASE correction value and switching into the automatic level control.

  • Patent number: 7064775
Abstract: To provide a camera with an image switching function capable of assuredly recording mode preventing the generation of a hunting upon switching the image recording mode, an image pick-up signal obtained by a CCD image pick-up element 1% is outputted as a color video signal or a black-and-white video signal in accordance with an image recording mode through processes by an analog signal processing part 2, an A/D converting part 3, a digital signal processing part 4 and a video output part 5. A control part 6 controls all the operations of a camera including process determining the image record mode. The image record mode basically determined in accordance a luminance signal. The image record mode is set to a color image record mode under a high luminance and set to a black-and-white image record mode under a low luminance. However, when the image pick-up signal is formed under near infrared radiation even high luminance, the image record mode is set to the black-and-white image record mode.

  • Publication number: 20050213986
Abstract: A dispersion compensating method for compensating wavelength dispersion occurring in an optical transmission line, includes the steps of: a) performing dispersion compensation by causing an optical signal, supplied from the transmission line, to pass through a variable dispersion compensator; and b) controlling a dispersion compensating amount in the variable dispersion compensator according to code error information corresponding to a type of code in a received data signal obtained from receiving the optical signal having undergone the dispersion compensation.

  • Publication number: 20050201755
Abstract: A power-down delay unit 15 for delaying cutoff of a voltage is provided in the power supply line for supplying power to an optical module 14 of a transponder unit 16 of each wavelength. The power-down delay unit 15 assigns a different delay in power disconnection each wavelength. The length of the delay is a time required by an AMP unit or longer to change from an ALC mode to an AGC mode. With the configuration, when the power supply for supplying power to the plurality of transponder units 16 becomes faulty and output of a number of wavelengths simultaneously stops, the actual optical signal gradually stops output wavelength by one wavelength. Thereby a nonlinear effect because of going up of a power of an optical signal too much is not occurred, therefore it is able to prevent an undesired influence for a wavelength not to be stopped.
