  • Patent number: 5227207
Abstract: A photoconverter formed as a sintered coating on a glass tube substrate, the coating being of a sol with a matrix compound capable of forming a sol-gel film. The sol-gel film contains a matrix substance component permeable to visible light and an acid chloride containing luminous atoms. The sol-gel film is reduced by calcination and sintered to form the photoconverter. The photoconverter is easy to use and is capable of executing photoconversion with a high energy efficiency.

  • Patent number: 4924143
Abstract: A colored fluorescent display lamp assembly has a lamp housing in which a plurality of discharge chambers are defined. Discharge holes of the respective discharge chambers are disposed in a central area of a bottom wall of the housing. A lamp base, formed by a relatively thin lightweight material, carries therein an electrode common to all of the discharge chambers. The base has an open end sealed to the central area of the lamp housing bottom wall to enclose the discharge holes. The lamp assembly can be thereby minimized in weight and size.

  • Patent number: 4780645
Abstract: An electronic light radiation tube wherein a cathode and an anode disposed as spaced from each other by a small spacing are housed in an envelope enclosing therein a luminous gas, and a magnetic field is applied to the envelope so as to cause magnetic lines of force of the magnetic field to pass through the envelope, while the magnetic lines of force which have passed through the cathode are prevented from passing through the anode, whereby electrons emitted from the cathode are caused to collide at a high efficiency with the luminous gas throughout the entire interior space of the envelope to excite the gas, and highly uniform light radiation can be realized over the entire envelope.

  • Patent number: 4719386
Abstract: A photoconverter wherein luminous substances having at least the atomistic property are dispersed among transparent intermediate substances substantially as individually isolated and as fixed together therewith so that, upon incident of light, the photoconverter is excited to cause each exciting photon to emit two or more photons for realizing multi-quantum emission.

  • Patent number: 4665341
Abstract: A colored fluorescent lamp assembly wherein a plurality of lamp tubes each coated on the inner surface with each of different coloring fluorescent substances and gas-tightly closed at one end having an electrode communicate their interior at the other open end with the interior of a gas-tight cell having a common electrode, and a single lighting control means controllably causes discharge lightings between the common electrode and the respective electrodes in the lamp tubes, for variably colored light emissions with a compact outline.

  • Patent number: 4603277
Abstract: A high density fluorescent lamp having a plurality of U shaped bent tubes secured to a disc shaped spacer. Passages within the spacer connect to the tubes so as to define a common discharge path which includes the passages. The tubes and spacer are enclosed within an outer bulb.

  • Patent number: 3997814
Abstract: A discharge lamp lighting device minimized in dimensions and capable of lighting a discharge lamp with a source voltage close to discharge lamp voltage is provided. The device comprises an alternating current source, a discharge lamp connected in series with the alternating current source through a current limiting means and of a lamp voltage substantially equal to the source voltage, and a switching element connected substantially in parallel with the lamp. The switching element is actuated once in each of half cycles of the source voltage so that, when the element is in ON-state, an energy will be accumulated in the current limiting means and, when the element is in OFF-state, such accumulated energy will be exhausted to the discharge lamp, whereby the lamp is continuously lighted.
