The material is comprised of a support base having thereon a silver halide emulsion layer containing a cyan dye-forming oleophilic polymer coupler. The polymer coupler is comprised of three repeating units including a repeating unit of a cyan coupler corresponding to general formula (I), an ethylene type unsaturated monomer repeating unit corresponding to general formula (II) which contains an acid component and an ethylene type unsaturated monomer repeating unit corresponding to general formula (III). The cyan dye-forming oleophilic polymer coupler is present in the form of a dispersed product, said polymer coupler having been dissolved in an organic solvent followed by emulsion dispersion of a gelatine aqueous solution in the presence of a surfactant. This latex is comprised of a recurring unit of a cyan coupler monomer capable of forming a dye upon coupling with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent represented by the general formula (I) and a recurring unit of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing an acid component represented by the general formula (II) and a recurring unit of methyl acrylate. ##STR1## The cyan color image forming polymer coupler latex has excellent color forming properties and photographic material containing the coupler latex provides a cyan image having good fastness to heat and the combination of heat and humidity. A method for forming a color image utilizing the disclosed photographic material containing the novel couple of latex is also disclosed.

The cyan color image forming polymer coupler latex has excellent color forming properties and the silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material which contains the latex provides a photograph in which the occurrence of color stain due to light is substantially prevented. A method of forming a color image using the silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is also described.
