  • Patent number: 11186006
Abstract: The invention relates to tube perforating machine for perforating a hollow tube. The powered machine includes a mechanical timing system comprising a Geneva mechanism so that perforations are punched when the tube is held stationary and perforations cannot be punched when the tube is rotating or moving longitudinally within the machine.

  • Publication number: 20100083803
Abstract: A perforation apparatus has a mandrel to support at least a part of the piping that is to be perforated from the interior of the piping. A punch housing has an aperture through which the piping is moveable and punches arranged radially around the aperture. At least some of the punches have an associated clamping mechanism that applies a force to the exterior of the piping adjacent the respective punch, to push or hold the piping against the mandrel. A driven annular housing rotates adjacent the punch housing. A plurality of rollers engage a surface on the punches during rotation of the annular housing to operate the punches upon contact and to operate the clamping mechanisms. A punch retracting mechanism retracts the punches after each operation. At least one mechanism longitudinally and rotationally moves the piping relative to the punch housing and drives the annular housing.

  • Publication number: 20080282865
Abstract: A perforation apparatus includes a punch housing 4 having an aperture through which 8 piping is longitudinally and rotationally moveable and one or more punches 7 arranged radially around the aperture to perforate the piping, a driven annular housing 3 including an aperture corresponding to the punch housing aperture, a punch retracting mechanism 5, and one or more rollers 6 axially secured to the annular housing, with the annular housing 3 rotatable adjacent the punch housing 4 such that the or each roller 6 rolls around the punch housing 4 and operates the or each punch 7 upon contact, and wherein the retracting 5 mechanism retracts the or each punch after said contact. A control system may be provided to coordinate the longitudinal and rotational movement of the piping with the operation of the punches. A mandrel assembly may also be provided to support the piping during punching and to remove punch waste.

  • Publication number: 20040168320
Abstract: A joined plate and tube includes a plate (12) with an annular neck (13), and a tube (11) extending through the annular neck and including a first reversing fold (14) around a peripheral end of the annular neck, and a second reversing fold (15), such that at least part of the annular neck (13) is held within a substantially S-shaped folded portion (16) of the tube (11). A method of joining a tube (11) to a plate (12) includes providing a tube (11) having a radially outwardly-extending annular portion (27), providing a plate (12) having an annular neck (13) extending therefrom, positioning the tube such that it extends through the annular neck and the annular neck (13) abuts the annular portion (27), and folding the annular portion (27) over the annular neck (13) to hold at least part of the annular neck in a substantially S-shaped portion of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5720711
Abstract: A system for isolating, evaluating and exercising the muscle groups of the human hand which includes structure for detecting the cardinal movements of the hand and translating the movements into rotational data for the system, the structure for detecting effectively isolating the movements of the hand so that the movements of other muscle groups of the body are not detected by the system. The system also generally includes an assembly for providing a selective variable resistance to the structure for detecting and for ascertaining the force applied to the structure for detecting by the movements of the hand.

  • Patent number: 5597373
Abstract: A system for isolating, evaluating and exercising the muscle groups of the human hand, wrist, arm and shoulder including an adaptable detector for interpreting the cardinal movements of at least one muscle group of the hand during flexion, extension, or deviation of the wrist, or abduction, opposition, flexion or hyperextension of individual digits of the hand. The detector translates the movements of the muscle group into rotational data for the system and effectively isolates the movements of the muscle group so that the movements of other muscle groups of the body are not detected by the system. The system also includes a controlled resistance coupled to the detector which provides a variable resistance against the muscle group and ascertains the force applied to the detector by the movements of the one muscle group. The resistance can be varied to provide isotonic, isokinetic, or isometric modes of testing against said at least one muscle group.
