  • Patent number: 4530789
Abstract: Subvalent organic halide compounds of variable, non-integral stoichiometry are described. Related subvalent double cation, halide compounds of variable non-integral stoichiometry are described where the double cation is comprised of an organic cation in combination with a single valent transition metal.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 16, 1979
Date of Patent: July 23, 1985
    Assignee: Monsanto Company
Inventors: James D. Wilson, Malcolm G. Miles
  • Patent number: 4143234
Abstract: A solar collector is constructed of a photoelectric cell mounted within a collector of the total internal reflectance type. The photoelectric cell has the form of a rod of a monocrystalline element or compound with a generally cylindrical junction spaced at a distance radially inwardly from the outer surface of the rod. The photoelectric cell is mounted within a trough shaped collector which is at least partially filled with a transparent solid wherein total internal reflectance of incident radiation increases the effectiveness of the collector.

  • Patent number: 4026905
Abstract: Compounds having a cation which is tetrathiafulvalene of 2,5-cyclohexadiene-1,4-diylidene-bis-1,3-dithiole or both, and an anion which is 7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethane or 11,11,12,12-tetracyano-2,6-naphthaquinonedimethane or both, are described. The above compounds are characterized by anions and cations which are both odd-electron species.
