    Abstract: A method of making optical fluoride crystal feedstock includes loading a fluoride raw material in powder form into a flexible mold and applying isostatic pressure to the mold to compress the fluoride raw material. The compressed fluoride raw material could be used directly to grow a single or mixed crystal or could be subjected to a pre-melt process prior to being used to grow a crystal.
