  • Patent number: 8909223
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for managing radio access point (RAP) devices and enterprise controller devices in a wireless communication network. An enterprise controller device registers with a gateway device, and the enterprise controller device receives a registration request from multiple RAP devices that are serviced by the enterprise controller device. As the RAP devices register with the enterprise controller device, the enterprise controller device generates a list of the RAP devices registered with the enterprise controller. As the enterprise controller receives additional registration requests from additional RAP devices, the enterprise controller updates the list. The enterprise controller sends the list to the gateway device with which it registers so that the gateway device is aware of RAP devices serviced by the enterprise controller device. In this way, aggregated messages may be sent from the gateway device to the enterprise controller.

  • Patent number: 8843083
Abstract: Transmit modules typically constitute passive matching circuitry, harmonic trap filters and an antenna switch to provide isolation between the transmit bands as well as between transmit and receive functions. In complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) processes the switch function is difficult to implement as a large voltage swing may result in breakdown of the MOS oxide, drain diode, source diode as well as substrate diodes. Therefore a switching function is provided at a node that has low impedance during transmit that limits the voltage swing that the MOS switches experience. The approach is particularly useful, but not limited to, half duplex transmissions such as those used in global system for mobile (GSM) communication, enhanced data for GSM Evolution (EDGE), and time division synchronous code division multiple access (TDSCDMA).

  • Publication number: 20140266432
Abstract: This application discloses correction circuitry for correcting a phase distortion in an amplification circuit by measuring an amplitude distortion and controlling a phase shifting component based upon the measured amplitude distortion. In one embodiment, a first amplitude distortion sensor is coupled to a first node of an amplification circuit, and a first phase shifter is coupled to a second node of the amplification circuit. Additionally, a first control circuit is coupled to the first amplitude sensor and to the first phase shifter. The first control circuit is configured to correlate a first amplitude distortion measured by the first amplitude distortion sensor to a first inferred phase distortion, and to generate a first phase correction signal based upon the first inferred phase distortion, and is configured to send the first phase correction signal towards the first phase shifter.

  • Patent number: 8766724
Abstract: The apparatus and method thereof accurately sense and convert a radio frequency (RF) current signal to direct current (DC) independent of process variation and temperature, and without requiring high speed, high voltage amplifiers for its operation. The apparatus comprises an AC coupled circuit that couples the RF signal from the main device to a sense device with an N:M ratio, a low pass filter system that extracts the DC content of the RF current signal, and a negative feedback loop that forces the DC content of the main device and the sensed device to be equal. Exemplary embodiments include a current sensor that provides feedback to protect an RF power amplifier from over-current condition, and a RF power detection and control in a RF power amplifier (PA) that multiplies the sensed output current by the sensed output voltage to be used as a feedback to control the PA's bias.

  • Patent number: 8739780
Abstract: A CPAP device wherein humidification detection and/or control is performed by a microprocessor of the CPAP device without requiring a separate humidification control chip. The microprocessor may also control the flow generator motor and the flow generator display. Further, the microprocessor may include code to prevent ‘brown-out’, and/or to detect the availability (connection and/or operability) of the humidifier. Humidifier detection may be carried out using power consumption or temperature sensor signal analysis, e.g., facilitated by use of a pull-up resistor.

  • Patent number: 8727253
Abstract: A three roll mill having a feed roll, a center roll, and an apron roll with that are driven so that their cylindrical surfaces move in the same direction but different speeds in each nip. One end of each roll is engaged by a drive shaft at a first side of the mill, whereas the other end of each roll rotates freely at a second side of the mill. Each roll can be removed individually and without tools by moving the roll away from the first side against a spring force in the second side. This disengages the roll from its drive shaft, whereupon it can be lifted out of the mill.

  • Patent number: 8731490
Abstract: In transmitter modules or power amplifier (PA) modules there is at least a possible path for a second and even a third harmonic of a low band to crossover unfiltered into the high band path and reach the antenna and hence cross band isolation is necessary. Forward isolation is necessary in order to limit the input crossing over the PAs into the antenna port. According to the methods and the circuits such cross band isolation and forward isolation is improved by detuning the filter and matching network at the output of the PA. The circuit comprises a trap at the harmonic frequencies of the low band thereby at least reducing the impacts of the cross band and forward isolation.

  • Publication number: 20140000620
Abstract: A vent assembly for use with a respiratory mask of the type used in CPAP treatment includes a porous disk portion that is attached to a biasing member such that the disk portion is maintained in a substantially sealed position against a main vent to minimize airflow through at least one side vent of the vent assembly. Debris build-up on the disk portion can cause the biasing member to deflect to provide an additional path for airflow through the at least one side vent. In another embodiment, the vent assembly can also include an anti-asphyxia feature to provide an airflow path from the environment to the user. An oxygen diverter valve may be disposed between the breathing apparatus flow generator and an oxygen injection port.
