    Abstract: Compositions and methods useful in identifying and selecting sorghum plants with increased resistance to anthracnose are provided herein. The methods use molecular genetic markers within QTL located on chromosome 5 and on chromosome 8 to identify and select plants with increased resistance to anthracnose, and plants comprising the QTL alleles associated with increased resistance to anthracnose can be crossed to other sorghum plants to incorporate the increased resistance into other sorghum lines or varieties.
