  • Patent number: 10119315
Abstract: A slide and swing leaf/sash system includes a floor rail profile and a ceiling rail profile which are each C-shaped and in which at least two leaves/sashes arranged therebetween are displaceably guided, which leaves/sashes are mounted at least in each case by at least one carriage in the floor rail profile in such a way that, in the swiveled-in state of the leaves/sashes, the weight load of the leaves/sashes is completely absorbed by the floor rail profile. At least one lateral outlet opening for releasing a leaf/sash is arranged in the floor rail profile, a lifting runner, which is arranged above the floor rail profile, being mounted on at least one leaf/sash, a ramp element being arranged on the floor rail adjacent to at least one outlet opening and interacting with the lifting runner in such a way that the leaf/sash is raised on passing the ramp element.

  • Patent number: 8447184
Abstract: A system and method for Raman amplification of optical signals in a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical transmission system includes transmitting optical signals within a transmission band via an optical waveguide between a transmitter and a receiver, Raman-amplifying the optical signals with at least one pump so as to distort an amplification profile of the Raman amplification within the transmission band, and rectifying the distorted amplification profile so as to compensate for the distortion.

  • Patent number: 8184978
Abstract: A method for optical data transmission in a wavelength multiplexing system having at least two transmission channels of different wavelengths includes determining at least one value which is a measure of a physical property of an optical data transmission path of the wavelength multiplexing system; and automatically adjusting a transmission parameter of at least one of the transmission channels as a function of the determined at least one value.

  • Patent number: 8109315
Abstract: An accordion partition has a pair of panels having adjacent vertical inner and outer side edges interconnected by a hinge. Horizontal and generally parallel upper ceiling and lower floor tracks extend above and below the pair of panels, and upper and lower trolley hardware on each of the panels rides in the respective tracks so that the panels can move horizontally relative to one another. Respective latches on each of the outer edges can move between locked positions engaged in one of the tracks and an unlocked position clear of the one track. Coupling elements on both of the latches interengage only in the extended use position for shifting both of the latches synchronously between the respective locked and unlocked positions. An actuator on only one of the latches manually shifts the one latch between the locked and unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 7885539
Abstract: A method for detecting and locating faults in an optical transmission path, and to an optical transmission system having such a functionality, is provided. By measuring the temporal change in the state of polarization SOP, external influences on a glass fiber cable of a long-haul transmission system, e.g., a WDM transmission system, may be detected. Such fault(s) may be localized with the aid of the relative arrival time of the polarization signal at both sides of a bidirectional transmission system.

  • Publication number: 20080124091
Abstract: Methods, devices and/or systems are provided for reducing signal degradations in optical transmission links. A means for ensuring a flexible manipulation for the improvement of an optical signal, especially during operation, is provided in a simple and cost-effective manner. To this end, a signal degradation in an optical transmission link is reduced by at least partially compensating a chromatic dispersion and a polarization mode dispersion of an optical signal, by adapting the temperature of a dispersion compensation device coupled into the transmission link.
