Patent number: 11916794Abstract: Most of the internet traffic today is carried out via the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). The main advantage of TCP is that it provides reliable data transfer to the application layer and simplifies programming. The protocol maximizes data throughput but may also lead to noticeable transmission delay in wide area networks (WAN). A client-server based medical image viewing system is disclosed that achieves high data throughput over TCP without impacting responsiveness. Special timestamp messages inserted into the data stream allow the system to detect situations where network latency increases noticeably and to obtain a reliable estimate of sustained transfer bandwidth. The system applies a feedback scheme that avoids network delays by limiting send bandwidth. In addition other parameters, in particular image compression settings, are dynamically adjusted depending on current network quality.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2022Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: PME IP PTY LTDInventors: Detlev Stalling, Malte Westerhoff

Publication number: 20240062880Abstract: The invention provides, in some aspects, a system for implementing a rule derived basis to display anonymized image sets. In various embodiments of the invention, users with the appropriate permission can launch a function inside a system in order to anonymize and export the currently loaded study or studies, or one or more studies identified by a search criteria. The data from the studies that were identified is then anonymized on the system using predefined rules. In an embodiment of the present invention, the data from selected studies is anonymized on a server, and only then transmitted to another network device thus minimizing the risk that protected health information can be inadvertently disclosed. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the data from selected studies is anonymized on a server, and only the anonymized data is stored to the hard disk or other media of a user viewing the study.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2023Publication date: February 22, 2024Applicant: PME IP PTY LTDInventors: DETLEV STALLING, MALTE WESTERHOFF

Patent number: 11902357Abstract: The invention provides, in one aspect, an improved system for data access comprising a file server that is coupled to a client device or application executing thereon via one or more networks. The server comprises static storage that is organized in one or more directories, each containing, zero, one or more files. The server also comprises a file system operable, in cooperation with a file system on the client device, to provide authorized applications executing on the client device access to those directories and/or files. Fast file server (FFS) software or other functionality executing on or in connection with the server responds to requests received from the client by transferring requested data to the client device over multiple network pathways. That data can comprise, for example, directory trees, files (or portions thereof), and so forth.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2022Date of Patent: February 13, 2024Assignee: PME IP PTY LTDInventors: Malte Westerhoff, Detlev Stalling

Publication number: 20230386125Abstract: The invention provides, in some aspects, a system for implementing a rule derived basis to display image sets. In various embodiments of the invention, the selection of the images to be displayed, the layout of the images, as well as the rendering parameters and styles can be determined using a rule derived basis. The rules are based on meta data of the examination as well as image content that is being analyzed by neuronal networks. In an embodiment of the present invention, the user is presented with images displayed based on their preferences without having to first manually adjust parameters.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2023Publication date: November 30, 2023Applicant: PME IP PTY LTDInventors: MALTE WESTERHOFF, DETLEV STALLING
