Abstract: A communication terminal device includes a reception unit for receiving a transmitted signal, a demodulation unit for demodulating the signal received by the reception unit, a storage unit for storing the data demodulated by the demodulation unit, a display unit on which data read from the storage unit is displayed, and a control unit for controlling operations of the storage unit and the display unit and for displaying an interruption display screen representing that data is deleted from the storage unit when new data from the demodulation unit is written in the storage unit.

Abstract: A portable radio information terminal with a message-notification mode/message-storage mode setting unit, a message-notifying-device-operation control unit and a display-mark turning-on/off unit. The message-notification mode/message-storage mode setting unit sets the portable radio information terminal in a message-notification mode for notifying the user of a message in the event of an incoming information signal conveying the message or in a message-storage mode for halting an operation to notify the user of a message in the event of an incoming information signal conveying the message. The message-notifying-device-operation control unit enables a selected message-notifying device to notify the user of an incoming information signal in the message-notification mode or prevents a selected message-notifying device from notifying the user of an incoming information signal in the message-storage mode.

Abstract: A portable radio information terminal apparatus capable of promptly moving a screen display to a desired layer in a multilayer screen display structure and a screen operating method for use in the apparatus. The terminal apparatus includes a command inputting discriminating circuit for determining whether an input signal supplied from an inputting circuit is generated by a predetermined command inputting operation, a movement control circuit for determining, based on a decision made by the command inputting discriminating circuit, whether the generated input signal continues and, if the generated input signal is found continuing, activating a layer-to-layer moving circuit and, if the generated input signal is stopped, stopping the layer-to-layer moving circuit.

Abstract: A portable information terminal apparatus capable of high-speed display screen scroll processing. An up/down scroll command signal control unit detects the number of unprocessed scroll command signals. A display control unit activates a partial screen update unit if at least two unprocessed scroll command signals are found based on processing executed by the up/down scroll command signal control unit, and activates a total screen update unit if only one unprocessed scroll signal is found remaining. The partial screen updating unit partially updates a display screen based on processing by the display control unit, where as the total screen update unit totally updates the display screen based on processing of the display control unit.

Abstract: A portable radio information terminal is provided with an unprocessed-signal detecting circuit for detecting unprocessed upward or downward scroll command signals generated by a rotary input device, a screen moving-down circuit for moving down a displayed screen by as many lines as unprocessed downward scroll command signals detected by the unprocessed-signal detecting circuit, a screen moving-up circuit for moving up a displayed screen by as many lines as unprocessed upward scroll command signals detected by the unprocessed-signal detecting circuit and a display control circuit for counting the number of unprocessed downward or upward scroll command signals detected by the unprocessed-signal detecting circuit and for driving the screen moving-down circuit in the case of unprocessed downward scroll command signals or the screen moving-up circuit in the case of unprocessed upward scroll command signals.
