  • Patent number: 6778795
Abstract: An image forming apparatus including a drive source for producing driving force; an image carrier driven by the driving force; and a driving force transmission apparatus for transmitting the driving force produced by the drive source to the image carrier, wherein the driving force transmission apparatus includes a first endless-shaped flat belt having a plurality of through holes along a travel direction thereof; and a rotation member having a plurality of projections to which said plural through holes of the first flat belt are fitted.

  • Patent number: 6493009
Abstract: An image forming apparatus, applicable to copying machines, facsimile apparatuses and printers, controls pixel positions with high precision. An image of color material is formed on the surface of an image holding drum. The surface of the image holding drum divides into a number of pixel areas, and each pixel area has an adhesive-force change portion smaller than the pixel area, where adhesive force to color material changes by a predetermined stimulus. An image-signal input unit forms an image by distribution of adhesive force to the color material on the surface of the image holding drum by inputting a stimulus corresponding to an image signal into the image holding drum. A color material supply unit supplies color material particles to the surface of the image holding drum.

  • Patent number: 6250742
Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided which is applied to copying machines, facsimile apparatuses, printers and the like, in which individual positions of particles for forming an image are properly controlled to form a high-quality image. Particles for forming an image are caused to move onto pixels, which individually respond to image signals, to reduce the diameters of the particles moved.

  • Patent number: 5573104
Abstract: A belt feeding device including a plurality of belt feeding rolls, a belt wrapped around the rolls, and at least a pair of guide members each having an edge guide surface against which either side edge of the belt abuts in crosswise movement of the belt. The outer circumferential surface of each roll is formed with a plurality of ring-shaped slits axially spaced a distance w from each other, each of the slits having a depth h and a width m. The values of h, m, and w are set so that a load to an axial displacement of the belt wrapped around the rolls at a position of each guide member becomes 80 N/mm or less. Accordingly, an edge force acting between either side edge of the belt and the corresponding guide member against which the side edge of the belt abuts can be reduced to 15N or less.

  • Patent number: 5412302
Abstract: A rotation control system includes a motor for driving a rotary body, a rotary encoder for detecting angular velocity of the rotary body, a CPU for controlling angular velocity of the motor via an interval counter and a motor driver based on the detected angular velocity of the rotary body. The CPU determines a transfer function of the rotation control system and then calculates gain and phase margins based on the transfer function. The CPU selects the most appropriate values of control parameters from preset values stored in a ROM when the gain or phase margin is out of a predetermined range.
