Abstract: A safety helmet includes a wearable helmet body for protecting a wearer's head and an adjustable strap for securing the helmet body to the wearer's head. The helmet further includes a locking arrangement integrated with the helmet body and a locking member including a tether which is extendible and retractable with respect to the locking arrangement, the locking arrangement configured to selectively lock the tether in a closed configuration allowing secure tethering of the safety helmet to an external fixture and the locking arrangement further including a reel around which the tether is wound and unwound during retraction or extension of the tether.
