  • Patent number: 6636611
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a combined receiver and speaker. The combined receiver and speaker has a diaphragm, a voice coil, and a chip resistor. The diaphragm generates sounds of a predetermined frequency through vibrations caused by a sound pressure in speaker and receiver modes. The voice coil vibrates the diaphragm using a magnetic field formed around a magnet attached to the diaphragm and generated by applied voice current. The chip resistor decreases the intensity of the applied voice current. The voice current is selectively applied to the voice coil such that the voice current is applied to the voice coil from speaker terminals in speaker mode, while the voice current is applied to the voice coil via the chip resistor from receiver terminals in receiver mode.

  • Publication number: 20030096632
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a speaker assembly for mobile phones. The speaker assembly having a main board covering the back surface of the speaker includes an air duct mounted on the back surface of the speaker such that the air duct penetrates the main board, thus allowing air to circulate from the speaker to a region behind the speaker without suffering resistance by a main board or other components of the speaker assembly, therefore maximizing resonance effect of the speaker. The present invention is directed to provide a speaker assembly for mobile phones, having improved sound quality.

  • Publication number: 20030076969
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a two-way speaker for mobile phones. The two-way speaker for mobile phones includes a frame having a hollow interior and a sound output hole formed on a wall of the frame. A magnet is mounted in the hollow interior of the frame and has a first through hole communicating with the sound output hole. A top plate is mounted on the magnet and has a second through hole communicating with the first through hole of the magnet. A diaphragm having a wave form is attached to the front of the frame, and a voice coil is attached to the back surface of the diaphragm at a position adjacent to the magnet. The communicating first and second through holes and the sound output hole form an air passage ensuring a smooth circulation of air when the diaphragm is vibrated, thus accomplishing desired frequency characteristics of a receiver.

  • Patent number: 6553126
Abstract: A micro speaker is disclosed. An oscillating plate is secured to the bottom of a protecting cover, and a terminal is installed on a side of the protecting cover, the terminal being electrically connected to a voice coil. A magnetic circuit is secured into a recess of a frame, and the protecting cover is attached on the top of the frame. Accordingly, when disassembling the speaker unit, any damage of the oscillating plate can be excluded. Further, when grounding the terminal to a circuit board, the connecting portion of the terminal is prevented from forming a short circuit.

  • Publication number: 20020071590
Abstract: A magnetic circuit of a micro speaker is disclosed. A magnet and an upper plate are mounted upon a yoke part, and this structure is placed within upper and lower dies, leaving a gap. Then an injection molding is carried out by injecting a resin into the gap within the dies, so that a speaker frame is formed to unitizingly secure the yoke part, the magnet and the upper plate, thereby completing the magnetic circuit of the micro speaker. Thus the coupling between the components are made firm, and the product can be made slim.
