  • Patent number: 6902418
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved IC socket comprising a socket body having a seat surface formed its compartment, on which seat surface an IC package can be put, terminals aligned in confronting relation and mounted in the socket body, each terminal has a contact portion to make contact or engage with a selected lead of the IC package, and an actuator member for displacing the contact portions of the terminals between the withdrawing position in which the contact portions of the terminals are apart from the seat surface of the socket body and the advancing position in which the contact portions of the terminals are so close to the seat surface of the socket body as to permit the contact portions to engage with the leads of the IC package. The contact portion of each terminal comprises a first contact element having an engagement surface confronting the upper surface of the lead and a second contact element having an oblique engagement surface confronting the lower edge of the end of the lead.

  • Publication number: 20010012725
Abstract: A system is provided for testing a bare IC chip having an array of electrode pads. A burn-in socket includes a dielectric housing having a receptacle. A plurality of terminals on the housing include contact portions exposed in the receptacle and terminating portions extending exteriorly of the housing. An adapter socket is configured for positioning in the receptacle in the burn-in socket and includes an opening for removably receiving the bare IC chip. A plurality of conductors have contact portions exposed in the opening for engaging the electrode pads of the bare IC chip. Connection portions of the conductors engage the contact portions of the terminals of the burn-in socket. The conductors are formed on a laminated film which is part of the adapter socket.

  • Patent number: 5966113
Abstract: A pager comprises a receiving section for receiving message data, an LCD for displaying the message based on the message data, and a memory for storing the format No. contained in the format code specifying the display format of the message and the actually displayed display format in such a manner that they correspond to each other. When a format code is sensed from the received message data, a display format is read from the memory according to the format No. contained in the format code and develops the subsequence display data on the display format, thereby displaying it on the LCD.
