  • Patent number: 7946561
Abstract: An anti-vibration support system for an engine, comprising an active anti-vibration supporting device including an elastic member adapted to receive a vibration of the engine; a liquid chamber, wherein at least a portion of a wall surface of said liquid chamber is defined by said elastic member; a movable member adapted to change a volume of said liquid chamber; and an actuator that uses an electromagnetic force to drive said movable member, wherein the vibration of the engine is prevented from being transmitted to a vehicle body frame by controlling a supply of electric current to said actuator, and wherein operation of said active anti-vibration supporting device is prohibited when an abnormality in an operational state of the engine is detected.

  • Patent number: 6701891
Abstract: There is provided a throttle control system and method for an internal combustion engine as well as an engine control unit, which are capable of controlling a throttle valve without any trouble even when the throttle valve is frozen. The throttle control system controls the degree of opening of the throttle valve. The opening of the throttle valve detected during control of the throttle valve to a fully-closed position at a start of the engine is set to a smallest angle. A temperature of the throttle valve is detected. A lower limit value of the target degree of opening is set to a degree of opening larger than the detected smallest angle of the throttle valve, when the detected smallest angle is larger than a predetermined degree of opening and at the same time the detected temperature of the throttle valve is lower than a predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 6302085
Abstract: A crank angle detecting apparatus of an engine is equipped with a camshaft sensor for outputting the same number of pulse signals CAM as the cylinder number at every stroke phase difference between the cylinders, and further equipped with a crankshaft sensor for outputting a position signal POS 10 at every unit crank angle. A signal of the output position signals POS 10 is omitted at the position where the leading pulse of the pulse signals CAM is generated. On the other hand, a counter CNTFST is equipped for counting up the generation of the position signals POS 10 which will be cleared every time the pulse signal CAM is generated. When the value of the counter CNTFST is equal to or above a threshold value at the time the pulse signal CAM is generated, then the pulse signal CAM is determined as a leading pulse, and the first position signal POS 10 output after the determination is set as the reference position.

  • Patent number: 6295589
Abstract: Erroneous diagnosis caused by a case where hardware other than an ALU (arithmetical and logic unit) has a function to access a RAM directly due to the construction of a CPU is to be prevented. In order to do so, interrupt is prohibited at every predetermined diagnosis timing. Then, determination is made as to whether a start-up of a DMAC (direct memory access controller) is approved or not, and only when the start-up is not approved, the diagnosis is performed to a diagnosis object RAM by previously determined diagnosis unit bytes at a time through a read/write method. When failure of the RAM is determined, the diagnosis procedure is advanced to an NG process. When the start-up of the DMAC is approved, the diagnosis of the diagnosis object RAM is prohibited, and the address of the object RAM is stored in a memory so that the object RAM is diagnosed at a next diagnosis timing.
