Abstract: The present invention relates to an oral care composition, which contains the following components (A), (B) and (C): (A) an inorganic acid and/or an organic acid, (B) an anionic surfactant, (C) at least one compound selected from polyglycerin fatty acid esters, sorbitan fatty acid esters, polyoxyethylene higher alcohol ethers having from 6 to 14 carbon atoms, polyoxyethylene fatty acid esters and polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene copolymers. The oral care composition according to the present invention is significantly excellent in reducing astringency and bitterness inherent in anionic surfactants.

Abstract: The invention provides an oral preparation or a chewing gum comprising an organic acid and/or inorganic acid and a fluoride ion supplying compound, wherein a light scattering layer is formed inside enamel of the teeth when the oral preparation or the chewing gum is applied to teeth. An internal tooth colored layer in the enamel is masked by the light scattering layer, and a white appearance is imparted to the teeth.

Abstract: A framed soap composition comprises (a) from 20 to 50% by weight of a fatty acid soap, (b) from 1 to 15% by weight of a nonionic surfactant, and (c) from 0.1 to 5% by weight of an inorganic salt. A framed soap composition incorporated with air bubbles is produced by melting a mixture containing these components while heating the mixture in the presence of water, subjecting the resultant molten material to aeration treatment to incorporate air bubbles, and pouring the resultant molten material incorporated with air bubbles, into a frame followed by cooling to harden the molten material.

Abstract: A method for improving the foaming property of a nonionic surfactant having a straight-chain alkyl group containing from 10 to 16 carbon atoms, and an HLB value of about 13.5 or more is disclosed, which comprises adding (b) a fatty acid monoglyceride represented by formula (I):R.sup.1 --CO--OCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 OH (I)wherein R.sup.1 represents a straight-chain alkyl group having from 9 to 15 carbon atoms, to (a) the nonionic surfactant in a (b)/(a) weight ratio of from 2/8 to 6/5. A low-irritating foaming composition is also disclosed, which comprises (a) a nonionic surfactant having a straight-chain alkyl group containing from 10 to 16 carbon atoms as a hydrophobic group, and an HLB value of about 13.5 or more and (b) a fatty acid monoglyceride represented by formula (I):R.sup.1 --CO--OCH.sub.2 CH(OH)CH.sub.2 OH (I)wherein R.sup.1 represents a straight chain alkyl group having from 9 to 15 carbon atoms, in a (b)/(a) weight ratio of from 2/8 to 6/5.

The detergent composition can effectively eliminate oily residue such as the residues from makeup, e.g. lipsticks, foundations, etc., sebum, and the like in a short period of time, while imparting a pleasant sensation to the skin during and after cleansing.
