  • Patent number: 11841785
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods are provided for managing system configuration settings during an active system session, and for managing session retainment, based on user presence detected within a field of view (FOV) of an information handling system (IHS) and policy. The systems and methods described herein improve system security in an IHS operated within a multi-user environment by managing system configuration and session retainment when a trusted user or an unknown user is present within a FOV of the authenticated user's system during an active system session.

  • Patent number: 11599364
Abstract: An information handling system includes a device, a driver associated with the device, and a BIOS. The device provides first information associated with a first function and second information associated with a companion application. The BIOS receives the first and second information. The BIOS includes a procedure to implement the first function, but lacks a procedure to implement the second function. The BIOS sends the second input information to the driver. The driver determines that the companion application is instantiated on the information handling system and directs the second information to the companion application, and the driver determines that the companion application is not instantiated on the information handling system, accesses a network to install the companion application, and directs the second information to the companion application.

  • Patent number: 10440719
Abstract: A method and device includes a scheduling controller receiving a request to reserve pairing with a device during a specific period of time, a memory storing a device identifier of a first information handling system in a scheduling table to associate the first information handling system with the device during the specific period of time, and providing connection details for the specific period of time to the first information handling system and the device, wherein the device and first information handling system can utilize the connection details to automatically pair any time after a start of the specific period of time.

  • Patent number: 10009899
Abstract: A device includes a controller, a memory, and a processor. The controller receives reservation details. The reservation details includes a device identifier for a first information handling system reserved to pair with the device in response to a start of a specific period of time. The memory stores the reservation details. The processor receives a request to pair with the device during the specific period of time from the first information handling system, determines whether the first information handling system has reserved pairing with the device during the specific period of time, and if the first information handling system has reserved pairing with the device during the specific period of time, pairs the device with the first information handling system, otherwise denies the request to pair.
