Patent number: 10369287Abstract: A medication injector for dispensing liquid medications to people includes a container which is filled with the liquid and which has an opening at one end for dispensing the liquid and at least one pair of capacitive measuring electrodes disposed opposite each other in the outer region of the container, in particular on the wall, for determining the permittivity of the respective medium in the intermediate region between the measuring electrodes. The measuring electrodes are used by the injector to determine the fill level of the container. A shielding surrounds the measuring electrodes in the manner of a sheath, is disposed around the container, and reduces possible external interfering influences on the capacitive measurement, such as those resulting from contact, for example. Additionally, a contact sensor is provided which can indicate the measurement as invalid.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2015Date of Patent: August 6, 2019Assignees: Siebersdorf Labor GmbH, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbHInventors: Manfred Bammer, Gernot Schmid, Otmar Putz

Publication number: 20180274962Abstract: A dispensing device and a method for dispensing liquids, in particular liquid medicaments, to persons, has a liquid-filled container an opening for dispensing the liquid at one end. A holder for holding an injection needle for injection of the liquid from the container are provided in the area of the opening. A measurement system determines a measured value, and a processing unit determines a parameter value, associated with the container, based on the measured value. At least one detection element is present at the opening and connected to a needle detection circuit. The needle detection circuit measures an electrical characteristic variable that can be picked up at the output of the detection element. The measurement result is fed to a processing unit, which calculates the parameter value and keeps it available at its output.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2015Publication date: September 27, 2018Inventors: GERNOT SCHMID, MANFRED BAMMER, RENE HIRTL, ROBERT LURF, MICHAEL MEINDL, MARTIN BEISTEINER

Patent number: 9170085Abstract: A device for detecting the position of an actuator has a conductor arrangement, which detects magnetic fluxes flowing therethrough and converts same into a voltage signal that is dependent on the position, at which the magnetic flux penetrates the conductor arrangement. The induced voltage signal is proportional to the position of the magnetic flux, measured along a predetermined axis starting from a predetermined starting point. A position-determining unit is connected to the conductor arrangement for determining the position of a magnetic flux generated by the actuator and passing though the conductor arrangement. A transmission unit, by way of which the determined position is transmitted to a receiver, is arranged downstream of the position-determining unit.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2011Date of Patent: October 27, 2015Assignees: AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH, Seibersdorf Labor GmbHInventors: Manfred Bammer, Gernot Schmid

Publication number: 20140079582Abstract: We describe a lattice part made of metal and a method for producing a lattice part made of metal or a metal alloy. The lattice has a thickness of less than 1 mm at a size of the gaps of less than 50 mm2. The lattice (5) comprises a connection made of knots, and perpendicular to the lattice surface has lattice bars and lattice knots of the same thickness. A method for the production of a lattice part made of metal, particularly made of light alloy, is characterized by a primary shaping process according to DIN 8580, wherein a mold is formed in the first step, a primary material is introduced in the mold cavity in the second step, the part is removed from the mold in the third step, and the finishing of the metallic lattice part is carried out in the fourth step.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2013Publication date: March 20, 2014Applicant: AIT AUSTRIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GMBHInventors: RUDOLF ZAUNER, FRANZ RIEMELMOSER, MANFRED BAMMER
