  • Patent number: 8714376
Abstract: A heavy-duty pivot plate adjusting joint for railroad freight cars connects multi-part car sections. To this end, the adjusting joint is configured such that each drawbar end is provided with only one end coupling rod part having a spring column, and the drawbar is connected by way of the drawbar end plates to the support bearing plates of an under frame provided on a car side. Each adjusting joint is provided with an adjusting point pivot plate, wherein a pivot plate roll surface is present directly at the pivot plate or at the adjoining contact surfaces transmitting pressure force, the surfaces having a spherical or two-dimensional shape. A configuration of the adjusting joints in a “regular embodiment” is proposed, wherein the distance of the transmission end points of balance is smaller than the distance of the spring travel limiters.

  • Publication number: 20030030898
Abstract: A microscope having switchable illumination in at least two spectral regions; having a common illumination beam path, proceeding from at least one light source, preferably a broad-band light source, for the at least two spectral regions; and having a narrow-band wavelength-selective filter (for example, in the IR or UV wavelength region) that can be inserted into the illumination beam path in order to achieve a wavelength-selective illumination in a first of the at least two spectral regions. A broad-band light protection filter, which can be inserted into the illumination beam path alternatively to the wavelength-selective filter, is associated with the illumination beam path. An apparatus for illumination switchover for a microscope of this kind, having switchable illumination in at least two spectral regions, comprises a mechanical positive coupling of the opposite-direction insertion motions of the wavelength-selective filter and/or of the light protection filter.

  • Patent number: 4154066
Abstract: In the carriage of a hand knitter, the guide track includes a bifurcation formed by two elongated permanent magnets, opposite poles of which face each other across the bifurcation to form a nearly homogeneous magnetic field. Also mounted on the carriage, above the guide track bifurcation, is an electromagnet the axis of which is vertically aligned with the middle of the bifurcation. When energized, the electromagnet produces a field which reinforces the permanent magnetic field on one side of the vertical axis and opposes, and thereby decreases the field on the other side. As a result, a foot of the needle is attracted into the bifurcated track guide on the side having the reinforced magnetic field and follows this path which is defined by the corresponding elongated permanent magnet. Very little energy is used to accomplish needle setting in this manner, wherein the electromagnet setting signals are provided just as the needle foot enters the bifurcation.

  • Patent number: 4114405
Abstract: In this control unit for a hand knitter, a data source such as a magnetic tape recorder provides both the row-by-row knitting pattern data and shaping information related to the outline contour of the article to be knitted. The shaping data is supplied as row numbers and stitch data specifying the number of stitches to be added or cast off in each knitted row identified by the row numbers. The control unit compares the supplied row numbers to the number of the row next to be knitted. If stitch changes are required, the requisite stitch data is visually displayed, and optionally the knitter carriage is momentarily blocked and an audible signal is sounded.
