  • Patent number: 4140732
Abstract: A mixture of polyolefin resins and partially crosslinked ethylene-propylene sequential polymer and/or ethylene-propylene-diene sequential polymer representing a so-called thermoplastic rubber having improved properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 1977
Date of Patent: February 20, 1979
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Jochen Schnetger, Manfred Beck, Gunter Marwede, Gottfried Pampus
  • Patent number: 4133845
Abstract: Polysegment copolymers with thermoelastomeric properties are obtained by a process, wherein block polymers of the idealised form S.sub.x -B.sub.y, in which S represents structural units derived from styrene, B represents structural units derived from a conjugated diene and x and y are integers, are reacted with sulphur chlorides. The products according to the invention are suitable for the production of shoe soles, hoses, industrial rubber articles and particularly hot melt adhesives.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 22, 1977
Date of Patent: January 9, 1979
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Manfred Beck, Gunter Marwede, Rainer Fritz
  • Patent number: 4102940
Abstract: In the preparation and working up of a SiOC-linked polysiloxane/polycarbonate copolymer comprising reacting an .alpha.,.omega.-dihalogenopolysiloxane with an .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxy-oligocarbonate in the presence of a tertiary amine and a solvent, and subsequently separating off the resulting copolymer from the reaction mixture additionally containing the amine, amine hydrochloride and organic solvent, the improvement which comprises subjecting the reaction mixture to steam distillation whereby the copolymer remains behind. Advantageously, the copolymer reaction solution is added to an aqueous solution having a pH of 7 to 8 whereby the amine and hydrogen chloride also distill over. If a surface active agent is present in the aqueous solution the product will be of very fine particle size.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 3, 1976
Date of Patent: July 25, 1978
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Karl-Friedrich Thom, Gunther Maass, Manfred Beck
  • Patent number: 3944533
Abstract: A process for the ring-opening polymerisation of cyclic olefins on catalysts ofA. a halide of a metal of Groups VB and VIB of the Periodic System,B. an organometallic compound of a metal of Groups IIA, IIIA and IVa of the Periodic System, andC. optionally a cocatalyst,Optionally in an inert organic solvent at temperatures of from -70 to +60.degree.C, wherein from 0.1 to 10% by weight, based on monomer, of a compound containing a C=C-double bond in conjugation with a CO-double bond is added during or after polymerisation in the presence of the active catalyst.
