  • Patent number: 6253653
Abstract: The invention relates to a microtome (1) for producing thin slices for microscopy, which is provided with a base (2), a blade holder (3) for holding a cutting blade (4) and an object holder (5) for holding the object (6) to be cut. Cutting occurs in a plane by a relative movement between the object (6) and the cutting blade (4) To produce the relative movement, a rotating component (7) is provided with a drive motor (17), wherein the rotating axis of the rotating component (7) is arranged obliquely to the base (2), and a feed slide (9) is provided with a linear guide for setting the slice thickness. The structure of said feed slide (9) is such that it is removable via a feed motor (17) and a control circuit (14) connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 6081560
Abstract: Circuit arrangement for generating a control signal. A circuit arrangement for generating a control signal for a controllable oscillator of a receiving device, is arranged to mix an FSK modulated input signal, having at least two predetermined input frequencies, with an oscillation, output by a controllable oscillator, so as to form an intermediate frequency signal, as well as to derive from the intermediate frequency signal a data signal whose instantaneous value is determined by the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal (intermediate frequency) and also a demodulator pulse signal whose frequency and/or phase is a measure of the frequency and/or phase of the intermediate frequency signal, from the intermediate frequency signal.

  • Patent number: 5964138
Abstract: A clamping device for a blade-shaped cutting knife of a microtome. The clamping device comprises a base part having a recess, a knife receptacle, an eccentric rod, and setscrews. The knife receptacle includes a blade rest and a pressure plate which is received in the recess of the base part. The eccentric rod is rotatably mounted in the base part and is provided for clamping the cutting knife between the pressure plate of the knife receptacle and the blade rest. The setscrews allow for both lateral and vertical movement of the pressure plate. Thus, by adjusting the setscrews, the edge of the pressure plate may be aligned with the cutting edge of the knife and variation in the thickness or geometry of cutting knife blade may be accommodated.

  • Patent number: 5881626
Abstract: A rotary microtome includes a crank mechanism for moving an object carriage up and down in a vertical path and a drive mechanism for driving the crank mechanism. The object carriage has a receptacle for a specimen holder. A mass-balancer balances the moveable masses of the microtome. The mass-balancer has a pretensioned, adjustable spring element and a pivotably mounted lever for compensating different inertial forces of the microtome in combination with the spring element. A drawing element connects the lever to the object carriage. The mass-balancer is indirectly connected to the drive mechanism by the drawing element.

  • Patent number: 5864256
Abstract: A description is given of a circuit arrangement comprisinga filter quadripole having two output terminals anda voltage follower circuit having two terminals, said terminals having identical electric potentials when the voltage follower circuit is in its turned-on state, each of the terminals of the voltage follower circuit being connected to one of the output terminals of the filter quadripole respectively, and the voltage follower circuit only being in its turned-on state during the turn-on time interval of the circuit arrangement. This circuit arrangement is suitable for a receiver circuit, more particularly, for a pager and has a very brief turn-on time.

  • Patent number: 5767742
Abstract: A circuit arrangement includes a differential amplifier having two output terminals for supplying two output signals which each have a signal component which is variable about a reference level and is in phase opposition to the other signal component (push-pull signal). A significant improvement of the common-mode rejection is obtained by means of a control circuit adapted to form a sum signal from the output signals, to form a difference signal from the sum signal and a reference signal, and to control the reference level of the two push-pull signals in dependence upon the difference signal.
